This is the timeline for the original Godzilla continuity, from 1954 to 1975.

Timeline Reasoning
In Godzilla, there is a direct statement of August 13th. An August calendar can be seen.

In Godzilla Raids Again, the newspapers in the film state 30-1-20 and 30-1-23, placing the movie in January 1955 based off of Showa years.

In Rodan, part of a two-digit Japanese era calendar year can be seen on the cover of a registry book in the Aso coal mine's engineering office. The legible text reads "-5 fiscal year", along with part of another kanji at the beginning which resembles either 2 or 3. The year is therefore either Shōwa 25 or 35, which equate to the years 1950 and 1960. A calendar in the JASDF Commander's office is turned to July and shows the month beginning on Saturday. The only Shōwa year which ends with a 5 and had a July beginning on Saturday is 1950. However, this must be out-of-date because the film features the Japan Self-Defense Force that was formed in 1954.

Technically yes, but King Kong hasn't had a film in the timeline yet plus it's a new Godzilla-exclusive iteration.

So is that February 1956? I honestly don't understand the Japanese calendars so I'm just making an assumption here based on the 29 day month.

Honestly, I'd love doing a GMK timeline just because of how cool it is that Godzilla (1998), which was supposed to be an American remake, is set in the same universe as the original 1954 film and apparently Marvel characters. I would include Godzilla: The Series though... I don't really like that the wiki has them separate, it actually makes sense because monster attacks increased after the 1997 Zilla attack.
 
Why can't Godzilla 2000: Millennium and Godzilla vs. Megaguirus be set after Destroy All Monsters? I think they fit
 
I would love to see someone rationalise all the Toho films into one continuity though. Not sure how it'd work, but I'd guess the Heisei Godzilla is a separate individual, with 2000-SOS being either Showa or Godzilla Jr., GMK being about another separate ghost Godzilla, Final Wars being about ANOTHER, another Godzilla, and Zilla in Final Wars being Zilla Jr. from Godzilla: The Series... I guess. Fucked up ending for him though, since he's a good guy.

Despite Final Wars officially not sharing continuity with any other film, the events of Godzilla (1998) are alluded to, with the 1997 placement even being accurate.

Zilla's origins go unexplained in Godzilla Final Wars. The full year, therefore, is likely Shōwa 25 or 35, which equate to the Gregorian years 1950 and 1960, respectively. Furthermore, a calendar in the JASDF Commander's office is turned to July and shows the month beginning on Saturday. The only Shōwa year which ends with a 5 and had a July beginning on Saturday is 1950, although paradoxically, this would place it before the Japan Self-Defense Forces' formation in 1954.

So... should Rodan be 1950 or 1956? This is confusing.
 
Frankenstein vs. Baragon's alternate ending cut is longer and has a connection to King Kong vs. Godzilla, plus it's the only one that my blu-ray disc plays as part of the actual film (the theatrical ending is a standalone "Alternate Ending" on the disc), soooo... it's canon to both the Showa and Kiryu timelines for me. :p

It's cool that you get to see the giant octopus here first before Kong fights it.
