Murder. If you kill your PAST self it would be suicide as you yourself would cease to exist, hence killing yourself.

Well I'd say it would come down to intentions and situation. Say you go back in time, break into your own house and are shot dead in the dark by your past self. That's not really murder, but it could easily be suicide. On the other hand if you purposely kill your future elfins some kind of climatic gun fight where you've both got opposite intentions then its murder. Of course it gets more complicated when we move into killing your past self, where depending on how time travel works it could be murder (independent timeliness, stranded future self) or suicide(unraveling timeliness)

Personally I prefer rubber time. go back, kill Hitler and some other vegetarian asshat will fail out of art school and try to conquer the world by killing everyone he doesn't like. You can change the details but not the big picture.

wouldn't that word technically mean "the killing of murder"? like pesticide is the killing of pests, genocide is the killing of an entire race (greek - genos = race), suicide is the killing of oneself (greek sui = "of oneself")
