They could have done them specifically on the Decimation (as they call it in-Universe). The Leftovers style, though far greater impact.

I agree. The WHIH Newsfront videos in general did a good job at filling in the gaps between the films and showing off more of the public's response towards Avengers-related happenings. I wonder why Marvel didn't do more with the videos after Ant-Man and Civil War came out.
