That's like saying a reference to a historical event makes it canon. I mean, yes... technically it does... but like, didn't you already assume that?

Doesn't even necessarily say Jaws is an in-universe film, there are countless shark movies in existence (mostly riding off Jaws' success, but the genre is very much not limited to Jaws clones)

A lot of animated shows also do a thing of slightly changing the name of a company or video game or movie or whatever, so it could just be a movie that in-universe is so similar to Jaws, out-of-universe it is basically parodying it

Well the "confirmation" is a throwaway comment implying movies about sharks exist, and some people making a timeline for the franchise who have no control over the narrative of it. AFAIK there's been no confirmation or denial of the implications in Rebirth, and it doesn't necessarily have to be because of InGen, that's just a fan theory explaining how Jaws would explicitly connect to the Jurassic World movies, it's really up to personal opinion ATP

It IS connected though! Amity Island exists per the latest film. At the Megalodon bar, there is a license plate that reads "AMITYISL" which is a reference to Amity Island as featured in the "Jaws" series.
