So a friend of mine asked me if there are any good steampunks graphic novels out there, and I told her I didn't know but that I'd pose the question here. She's a comic book girl, so I think when she says graphic novels she means self-contained stories. That said, if there is an ongoing series that is very steampunk and is easily available in not too many collected volumes, then I'm sure she'd want to hear about those as well. I wouldn't recommend Hellboy, for instance, because while it's good I'm sure, there's a ****-ton of volumes. What do you guys say? (Does something like LXG count or no?)

A few I've read/heard are good:

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. 1 and 2
Batman: Gotham By Gaslight
The Adventures of Luther Arkwright
Five Fists of Science
FreakAngels
The Amazing Screw-On Head
Aetheric Mechanics
Ignition City

Planet-man also made a thread about steampunk comics here.

Amusingly, there was one made around the same time as Battle Chasers called, ironically, Steampunk.
