Marvel Rivals Timeline/Reading Order

Cerebro File II: "Subject: X-Tron"
• Talks about Ultron becoming X-Tron and his plan to time travel to get Hank's approval. I'll place it after Ultron's story since the File is him talking about the same revelations of the newfound range/power he has

Cerebro File II: "Annihilation Conquest"
• Talks about X-Tron's plan to conquer all timelines so it can go right after his file

Cerebro File II: "Timestream Anchor"
• Talks about Ultron sensing Doom's attempt to erase him and the realization that he's anchored to the timeline and can no longer be erased after merging with Cerebro. I'll place this before the Lesser Evil Gallery Card

Cerebro Files II: "Dominion"
• Talks about Ultron's time in exile and his conquest of various interstellar civilizations. It can go basically anywhere pre-Entanglement so I'll place it after Stark-Fujikawa since Ultron is native to 2099

Hellfire Gala Gallery Card: "From the Ashes"
• The aftermath of everything Ultron related and sets up Knull's return and calling on the Phoenix for help. Hela, Loki, and Venom apparently attended the Gala too. Ultron is deemed "one of them" now. Bucky and Hawkeye mentioned that they've defeated Knull before at some point with the other heroes

• For the most part these stories can go anywhere after the Entanglement (thx to dialogue from the Luna/Hela story). Since these are variants they don't particularly contradict the game's lore even tho Luna/Hela/Loki are in their Demon Days skins but are treated like their normal selves. Luna also mentions thinking that the Entanglement is over but Loki (as Hela) says she's wrong. It also seemingly suggests there's multiple Yggsgards. Just for now I'll place Ignite at the end of the timeline
Can you elaborate? Are they new variants specific to these stories or do they mention other events and characters from the games/comics? Because if so, my theory of skins belonging to separate universes could still apply. Sorry, but I like this idea/theory so any reason for it being true I am excited about.

I still think that the in-game skins are variants of their Main Rivals counterparts but the Luna Snow vs Hela story seems to utilize variants of those variants. Since Hela is still referred to as Hela instead of Yami and Luna Snow still gets referred to as Luna Snow and not Seol Hee despite being in her Nolaehaneun Manyeo (Singing Witch) skin.

The other 2 stories fit neatly as part of the Rivals Demon Days universe and you can also fit the third one if you ignore Demon Days Seol being called Luna Snow and treat Hela/Loki's Demon Days names as titles given to them by mortals

I think it was obvious where the next season would go story wise but Twitch accidently leaked a lot about next season with their Twitch Drops lol
Most of this is probably already known with the way the story/skins are but anyway.

Heroes: The confirmed heroes are Phoenix and Blade. Bit weird they are gonna have two duellists in a season, unless they change it. Phoenix is going to be like the opposition to Knull's uprising, and there will be skins for characters, some Symbiote/Venomized skins and some Phoenix force skins. Hopefully Blade in his story talks about Season 1 and resting in Season 2 (but hopefully it rounds off his or any other story bits from Season 1).

Maps: There are two new maps coming for Klyntar. Klyntar core and the Dead Celestial that is now on Klyntar. Hopefully it also talks about Knull's darkness spreading to the Wakanda maps (It has been teased in a gallery card I think or something like that and obviously the map itself. We might be able to place that map on the timeline too by the time season 3 ends). They are probably slowly mixing in the original maps into the story, like the Klyntar map lore is that the guardians go investigate Knull, and I think they set that up in a recent gallery card/lore piece.

Events: Hawkeye is the next Twitch Drop event character. They also mentioned "Sizzling summer events that will turn up the heat.", which combined with other leaks and the fact that a Swimsuit Special comic is soon to be released, there will most likely be a Swimsuit event or Swimsuit skins. That will make them some money for sure lol. There will probably be other events like there usually are.

Also, the Ultron event went by and it had an event map that looked like it was on Krakoa based on the background. It is basically Ultron simulating how the heroes would fight against each other, so even if it is a simulation, it would make sense to be before he attacks Krakoa because its as if he is planning how to beat the heroes at the Gala. It is called: Age of Ultron: Digital Duel Grounds

I knew about the characters/skins but not the upcoming stages so thank you.

I'll be sure to add the Digital Duel Grounds stage.

Phoenix's story. It mentions Jean hearing Magneto's call at the end of his story, but it also picks up after the last Hellfire Gala Gallery Card with Knull blacking out stars across the universe and Phoenix purifies the God in the Divine Space (including Bast), so I think I'll place it after Season 2's events

It's been bothering me for a while but I'm pretty unsatisfied with where I placed the Team-Up Profiles towards the end (basically every profile starting with Fastball Special)

The placements were done with the assumption that since the heroes are properly teaming up with each other and collaborating in Wakanda it has to come after basically everything already introduced so far. It seemed simple but I realized pretty early on, that I wasn't cooking

There's multiple mentions of people like Spider-Man going back and forth on fronts of the Entanglement (Web Warriors and the Eternal Night), people like Wolverine can access the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, and I think the Chinese Festival event can go earlier since Rivals is basically happening in "real-time" so it should probably happen before Galacta's Quest.

Since I'll be cracking down on placements for stages soon (I think the Chinese Festival should go some time after the Klyntar map btw), I figured I'd start considering better placements for the Team-Ups. I am open to basically any feedback or insight (with reasoning) regarding where the Season 0 stages and Team-Ups, starting with Fastball Special, should go. I'm kinda lazy and I trust my True Believers to have my back

I'm happy to help when I can :)

Yeah, the team-ups are quite vague so it is hard to pinpoint accurate placements. The other week I was going to start a list/project on where each character went/travelled to throughout the story. Like whenever a mention of them moving or showing up is shown, I would list it (e.g. spiderman going to web warriors and stuff). But... I was a bit busy and also kinda gave up. Anyway, something like that would be so helpful on when certain gallery cards, maps or team-ups would take place, but its just sooo long to do, cause it would basically mean reading through the whole story again.

With the "real time" thing, I agree, its like the story starts in 2024 when the game released, then moves into 2025. But cause it takes place in multiple timelines with different times (2099), I think its best to look at it like 'Year 1' (2024 roughly) and 'Year 2' (end of Year 1 to now), and 'Before Year 1' (Pre-Timestream Entanglement). I'd say Year 1 is stuff from Season 0 that isn't used in later seasons (not Klyntar or Wakanda) and maybe some of season 1. Year 2 is basically season 1, season 2 and onwards. This would mean the Chinese new year would go between Season 1 and 2.

If eventually all the season 0 maps are later used in the story, which looks most likely, then it might be better to have 2025 stuff as 'Year 1' and anything before it as 'Before Year 1'.

Tbh a lot of your placements are quite good and we can help refine stuff. For example, Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol, on the timeline should technically be called, Age of Ultron: Digital Duel Grounds. Well, that's the actual map name but I guess the event could also be there
