Marvel Rivals Timeline/Reading Order

This looks interesting

I wonder how this will play out and when. This looks like a separate story, so other than maybe mentioning in game events (like hellfire gala or eternal night etc) this will probably be at the end of the timeline. Thoughts?

Thx for posting

The tweet says that the comic in it is a prequel to the game so maybe early season zero if not pre time stream entanglement
Yeah it could be. Would be nice to get more lore from the early parts of the story. But I think this tweet means there is a prequel comic to the new game they are advertising in the tweet.
Thx for posting
No problem

As much as I love Rivals getting more tie-in media, I don't have too much faith in this actually tying in (I am absolutely hoping for it)

It does say it's a prequel but a lot of the Lore Entries would technically qualify as prequels so it's possible that it goes early into the Entanglement, but considering the lineup it could potentially fit a short time before the Hellfire Gala. That sounds like the most ideal time where Venom, Jeff, Luna, Sai, Cloak/Dagger, and Emma could be in the same place.

Thanks to the Season's Beatings Gallery Card, and basically the entire game's premise, there's also a precedent for these characters just being variants of the game's mainline counterparts. If this doesn't fit with the Rivals version's established histories the story could potentially be added as an alternate timeline so long as there's no big swings that'd interfere with the game's lore (what kept me from adding the Infinity Comic)

I think I'm going to start working out better placements for the Team-Ups I slapped at the end of the timeline, since I finally opened my eyes to these characters just sort of hopping around coming and going to the Empire of Wakanda.

Team Up Profile: "Fastball Special"
• Placing it before the S1.5 one for the same reasons as before and I'm placing this one before the S0 Gamma Charge team-up. Since Logan and Iron Man are both part of that Eternity Knights team from S1 I felt like this was a decent spot since the placement for both are vague and involve Hulk

Team Up Profile: "Fastball Special" (S1.5)
• Placing this one after Thing's hero story since the story suggests that Thing's been prioritizing saving civilians and I think this gives some decent wiggle room

Team Up Profile: "Storming Ignition"
• Placing this one after Fastball Special S1.5 since it mentions a showoff competition involving Ben and Logan and I think it'd make sense that Ben and Johnny came to Wakanda together

Team Up Profile: "Jeff-nado"
• I think it can slot after Storming Ignition for the same reasons as before since I think this also takes place in the Training Range

Team Up Profile: "Chilling Assault"
• Placing it after Atlas Bond because Luna Snow is there and it's a clean fit since Hawkeye would be in Wakanda by then

Team Up Profile: "Ammo Overload" (S2)
• Both Ammo Overloads can go after Chilling Assault bc Rocket mentions the Quantum Technology he got on Klyntar so it has to be after it and by this point Star-Lord and Widow are in Wakanda for Festivals and Friends (Rocket and Punisher can easily be there too)

Team Up Profile: "Ammo Overload"
• Same as before

Team Up Profile: "Rocket Network"
• Can go after Ammo Overload since by this point Rocket would still be here and Peni would be done with the Web-Warrior stuff (for the time being)

Reread the Ignite comic to finally free my soul and get cleaner placements so that the timeline won't have anything else just slapped at the end

Marvel Rivals Ignite: "Demon Days: Ko-Sute-Iwa"
Marvel Rivals Ignite: "Tsuchigomo"
• I think both of these can fit after "Galacta's Snack Time" (she talks about Chronovium's creation) early into the Entanglement since, assuming this is the main Rivals Sai, she hasn't been affected by the Entanglement and it hasn't affected Peni/Punisher yet either. They'd go pre-entanglement if the third story didn't suggest that the multiverse was still at risk

Marvel Rivals Ignite: "Sounds of Victory"
• Easily the hardest of the three because it uses Demon Days skins but treats them like the main versions. This can kind of be ignored the same way the Hellfire Gala trailer has Battle Pass skins that they shouldn't be wearing yet. Luna's also under the impression that the Timestream Entanglement was fixed so it can't be after she's joined Cap's Avengers in Wakanda. I also considered that Loki is the main Loki and Luna is a variant and this Luna is the one that attended the Hellfire Gala but the main Luna mentions being at Krakoa in the Summer Spectacular. I'll place it after Operation Microchip

It's:
1. After Thor gets banished
2. Before Luna is shown crossing paths with the people at the heart of the Entanglement
3. Has Loki in power
Not to mention that Loki uses his Ult and turns into Hela which also suggests that Hela is nearby

Team Up Profile: "Lunar Force" (3.5)
• This'll also affect the OG Lunar Force placement, but I think both profiles can go pre-entanglement since there's no actual mention of Dracula/vampires so I think it's just an ordinary mission. The profiles describe the same mission just with Blade here now too. I'll put both before Fickle Banner

Team Up Profile: "Chilling Assault" (S3.5)
• Iron Fist/Luna Snow ship fuel. It can go after the OG Chilling Assault

Team Up Profile: "Rocket Network" (S3.5)
• Can go after the OG Rocket Network. Quill mentions that they've just drafted Jeff and Rocket talks about making Peni and honorary Guardian of the Galaxy

Team Up Profile: "Duality Dance"
• This can go after the Rocket Networks bc I think it's in that same period where the Guardians are relatively settled in Wakanda (so glad I chose to move them before this update lmao)

Team Up Profile: "Vibrant Vitality"
• Not too many timeline hints but Loki mentioning present company making him uneasy leads me to believe this is happening on Klyntar. I'll place it after Primal Flame

Iron Man: "The Celestial Iron Man"
• Iron Man mentions being on Klyntar during Season 0 and that the Guardians ended up leaving the Celestial Corpse on the surface (Milano Logs). The Celestial and Adam tell Tony that him interfacing with the Celestial triggered an ancient weapon that struck the Phoenix Egg and made it crack prematurely, so I think this is the full context of what lead to the Phoenix Seven Gallery Card, so I'll place it just before

Rocket Racoon: "The Deepest Bond"
• The first half takes place during the events of the season and the second half picks up after all the action is resolved. Thankfully with the Gallery Cards in mind it pretty cleanly fits after most of the action both ways. It can go before the final Gallery Card

The Abyss Awakens Gallery Card: "Divine Balance"
• Has Wanda and Jean power-up and briefly overwhelm Knull before he sees Jean as the weak point and severs their link and he solos the Phoenix Seven. It ends with Wanda sending one last call for Venom so it should come some point after Separation Anxiety and likely before Deepest Bond

The Abyss Awakens Gallery Card: "Kings in Black"
• Picks up after the last card and it's All-Black admiring Eddie and the Symbiote's bond

The Abyss Awakens Gallery Card: "Phoenix Endsong"
• Half of it is almost directly lifted from Rocket's story so this is where Rocket first mentions his plan to beat Knull. This picks up after the Kings in Black card and leads straight into Rocket's story

The Abyss Awakens Gallery Card: "Nowhere Left to Run"
• Has the aftermath of Hela taking refuge in the Eighth City with Dizang narrating. It'd go at the end

Moved Vibrant Vitality to before Stark Warning since I think it'll flow better when it's not in the middle of the Phoenix/Symbiote action. I also added the Practice Range stage
