Possible SAG strike? Say it ain't so!

I don't know what to think of this. I was against the first strike because what besides iTunes is actually used well enough or has survived long enough to be seen as an investment? There was a bit of a war between iTunes and NBC about what exactly the consumer is paying for...the service of downloading media and for bandwidth/hosting costs from iTunes or to watch/listen to the content? As far as I know no decision was reached.

It's just really petty to fight over this when no one's figured it out yet....and I STILL think pirating is far far far more common than people paying for anything.

The big problem I have is that yes: actors, writers an such should get a bigger piece of the pie to reflect the amount of money they bring in BUT there's a reason that the producers require a LOT of money - to keep making shows. For every show that's a success, nine flop. And that success has to carry the nine failures. If people take too much of the pie for their own individual finances, soon you'll have a more people with lots of money but an industry no longer able to create shows.

It's akin to having individuals in society not pay tax. Yes, everyone is richer, but we lack the basic fundamental requirements a society needs to exist, such as healthcare, transport, and emergency services.

Socialist.

(I seriously agree, though)

This is all true.
