Didn't see a thread for this but yeah, another classic being remade. There are now on set pics of what Robocop will now look like. It's vastly different...

I just hope we're lloking at a matte black robocop because he's going to be digitally enhanced post production. I'm really, really not one to shout CGI it but thats a really bland looking design.I'm really looking forward to this, honestly.
It seems like it's going to diverge pretty significantly from the original but if it didn't, I wouldn't see any reason to remake it. It looks like it's playing with the same themes of commercialism and capitalism as the original and keeping the same satirical tone, but updating it for the present day. I hope it's not disappointing.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I really hated the original Robocop. It's not even, like, ironically good or funny. It's actually probably the stupidest movie I've ever seen, and I almost turned it off halfway through it. I wish I would have.
As such, I don't really care that they are remaking it but I guess I should watch the trailer.
Robocop's awesomeness is entirely predicated on when and in what state you first saw it.
I first saw it when I was 8 at my cousin's house in Massachusetts...and I was completely wasted.
"I'll buy THAT for a dollar!"
It was the movie's version of 80s catch phrase commercials. It's like saying "where's the beef?"
Massachusetts is the best state to watch it in.
Also, I'm going to award this a Post of the Day.

Jeez, kind of lowering the bar, no? Was it a slow day?
