Plot Summary: When Shrek married Princess Fiona, becoming the next King and Queen of Far, Far Away wasn't part of the plan. So when his father-in-law, King Harold, falls ill, it is up to Shrek to find a suitable heir or he will be forced to give up his beloved swamp for the throne. Recruiting Donkey and Puss In Boots for a new quest, Shrek sets out to bring back the rightful heir to the throne, Fiona's rebellious cousin Artie. Back in Far, Far Away, Fiona's jilted Prince Charming storms the city with an army of fairy tale villains to seize the throne. But they have a surprise in store because Fiona, together with her mother, Queen Lillian, has drafted her fellow fairy tale heroines to defend their "happily ever afters." As Shrek, Donkey and Puss work on changing Artie from a royal pain in the you-know-what into a future king, Fiona and her band of princesses must stop Prince Charming to ensure there will be a kingdom left to rule.

It looks very closely tied to the second one, which as I've said before was a very funny movie, but also left me with no desire to see it again.

As opposed to the first, which I watched a dozen times and still stands as one of the best movies ever.

All the Shrek movies blow inter-species erotica ****.

None of them are funny. So this looks to be yet another crappy CGI film I will avoid.

He likes How I Met Your Mother.

And strippers.

Not much else.

I still haven't seen Shrek 2, so I doubt I'll see this anytime soon.

And Fables.

Ok, I saw this tonight. My thoughts? The plot is extremely weak and you can see the ending coming a mile away. The secondary cast members are the only ones worth watching, the main characters (mostly Shrek) are just unfunny. From what I remember the second one was the best.

I for one enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the second, which had far too many pop culture jokes that would make it stale ten years from now. The first one is still the best by far, however.

My grades:

Shrek: B+
Shrek 2: B-
Shrek the Third: B

djf has spoken.

Shrek the Third opened this weekend to $122 million, making it the third highest opening ever, after Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

Look for the film to be bumped to fourth on that list by next weekend. :)

(Pirates 3!!!)

Overall it was pretty good (better than Spider-Man 3) but overall- too many poop jokes.

I watched this today , It was cool , I loved this film. I agree with ultimatedjf It was better than shrek 2 but not as good as 1. The way I see it Shrek 1 = funny but on a level Adults and could enjoy , Shrek 2 = geared alot more towards the kids. Shrek 3 = Still geared to kids a bit but also started going back to things adults would enjoy as well.

Still as far as Cgi movies go , It's better than most Pixar films (with the exception of toy story + 2, that was very very cool)

I give it a 9 out of 10

Wow. I'm glad you agreed with me about the order of the Shrek movies' greatness, but I have to totally disagree with this statement. Every Pixar movie is infinitely better than Shrek, with the exception of maybe A Bug's Life.

But to see my grades, you'll have to search for The Pixar Thread. :D

I disagree but that's cool. I find most pixar films to be extremely over rated and boring.

So I finally saw this earlier tonight.

I wanted to see it just so I could say that I've seen it.

*cracks knuckles and inhales/exhales deeply*

This was the worst movie I've seen all year. I'm deadly serious. When I saw worst---I don't mean just what came out in the theaters. No. I mean all those straight to DVD movies as well.

I need to you prepare your mind for what I'm about to say next. It's important that you brace yourself because the next statement is gonna be VERY drastic. So read this now and understand it later....

Shrek3 is worse than Jamie Kennedy's "Kickin' It Old Skool".

There. I said it.

I kid you not....I didn't even crack a humorous smile thru the whole movie. The whole movie. The only time I thought I might've been prepared to smile? Was when Snow White began singing the intro to Led Zepplin. But I'd already seen that clip so many times on the preview that it had no effect on me.

No if you'll excuse me....I need to go watch Anna Nicole Smith's "Illegal Aliens" to help me forget the pain that Shrek3 caused me.
