The Clone Wars 7x09-12: "The Siege of Mandalore" - This arc takes place before, during and after Revenge of the Sith. The timeline lists the episodes in their best possible positions if you're determined to view everything chronologically - however, this may result in disruption to the flow of the story if you have to jump around between films, comics and a novel between episodes of the arc. With that in mind, you may find you have a better viewing experience if you save the final four episodes of the Clone Wars to watch all in one go where episode 7x12 is placed - between issues #12 and #13 of Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith - and treat it as a flashback to the end of the Clone Wars.
The Bad Batch 1x01 - While the first four episodes of "The Bad Batch" series technically happen before the flashforward at the end of TCW 7x12, it's intended as a sequel series, and as such you might want to leave them until after you've seen Victory and Death, for narrative flow. Episode one also conflicts with the Kanan comic - see point 4.
Ahsoka - This novel was written long before Season 7 of the Clone Wars aired, and contains flashback scenes which conflict with episodes 7x09-12 of the Clone Wars. This is the first of only two known examples of hard retcons in the new Star Wars canon. The only real options are to either outright ignore the flashback scenes in the novel, or treat them as Ahsoka somehow misremembering what really happened, perhaps due to the sheer trauma of the events concerned. I'll update this if LucasFilm come out with a better solution.
Kanan: The Last Padawan - The flashbacks in this series conflict narratively with the events of The Bad Batch 1x01, and is the second of Star Wars' hard retcons. There's no real way of reconciling these, so you'll have to choose one or the other - as far as LucasFilm is concerned I'd assume the TV series overwrites the comic.
Rebels 4x15-16 - The final episode of Rebels features a major flashforward, massively spoiling the events of Star Wars Episodes 4-6. You absolutely should not watch Rebels 4x16 unless you have seen Return of the Jedi. None of the episodes preceding it contain spoilers for "future" content like this, so you're fine to watch those where they are and save the finale for until you've seen Return of the Jedi - however, the final two episodes of Rebels form a two-parter, and you might find it quite disruptive to split the final episode apart from the rest of the season like the timeline does. Similarly to the Clone Wars above, you may have a better viewing experience if you save Rebels episode 4x15 to view alongside 4x16 between reading Blade Squadron: Jakku and Last Shot.
Myths & Fables/Dark Legends - The Target editions of these contain three exclusive stories each, so do pick that up if you can.

This is a simplified viewing/reading/playing order for the new Star Wars post-2014 canon, based on DIrishB's original timeline and updated using Wookieepedia's Timeline of Canon Media. While useful in general, Wookiepedia's timeline sorts all the stories by their "earliest date." This isn't very helpful for anyone attempting to work their way through all of Star Wars in chronological order, as it means stories with flashbacks/flashforwards, or that take place over extended periods of time, appear in inappropriate places. Particular examples are the novel Lost Stars, which takes place over the entire original trilogy, but is placed by Wookieepedia before A New Hope, or the Yoda's Secret War arc of the Star Wars comic, which is placed before Episode I but features flashforwards to Luke. This timeline, on the other hand, is manually ordered to make the most sense to the viewer/reader. Stories with flashfowards/flashbacks are placed according to their "latest date", so as not to spoil "future" events in the viewing order. Stories which take place concurrently are sorted into a sensible order - it doesn't make sense to read Lost Stars before watching Return of the Jedi, so it is placed after. While Lando - Double or Nothing technically takes place during the events of Solo, it is about Lando before his appearance in Solo, so it is placed before it. Han Solo - Imperial Cadet, on the other hand, while also taking place during Solo, is placed after it, because it assumes knowledge of the events of Solo and doesn't make sense if read before. As such, following this timeline should, in my opinion, give the "best" possible experience of Star Wars' stories in their chronological order, and I hope people find it useful! I myself am a huge Star Wars fan and keep up to date with all the latest releases, so I'll do my best to add new stories to the timeline as soon as I can get hold of them.

TL;DR - For people discovering Star Wars for the first time, or who want to experience all its stories in chronological order, this guide is for you. Everything should be in its correct place, and none of the stories will spoil future instalments you haven't yet reached. Enjoy!

Generally I haven't included them since, as you say, they're mostly just retellings of other stories - and as a rule I haven't included retellings on my timeline. I suppose I could include those two you've linked - though since they use recycled audio from other scenes, I'm not sure if they're supposed to be original canon stories or just general character showcases?

Ooh, now those do seem to be stories possibly worth including, as they do introduce new, original material of their own. It's tricky, though, as how should I do so? I could place them like this:
Forces of Destiny: Volume 4 (Linking Material)
But it's a very difficult task for a viewer to find just the linking material from the video - it can't really be viewed separately to the stories! So it doesn't really work bearing in mind that this is intended as a viewing order.
The alternative, and potentially better way to do it, is to do away with the individual Forces Of Destiny episodes on the timeline, and instead simply list the four compilation volumes, placed according to their "present day" linking segments - so Volumes 1-2 between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and Volumes 3-4 between the Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker.
I'm leaning towards the latter - any thoughts?

Well, Hondo does reference the fourth wall being broken. Pahaps it is canon, but that relies on Maz talking to the audience.

I do like the narrative addition of Forces of Destiny personally, so splitting them up is my personal preferred viewing. I guess I'd skip the scenes that are the individual episodes and focus on the Maz scenes. Again, not great, but it's what I'd do. As a list, I'd just note the Volumes down without any note. The episodes are the events playing out, the Maz scenes are recounts of the events. That's how I interpret it, anyway.

Options:
1. Ignore it, with the interpretation that the fourth wall breaking is what makes it non-canon. unlikely
2. Replace Forces of Destiny with this. No annoying repeated viewings
3. Place both Forces of Destiny and the volumes on the same list. Keeps narrative

I've added the volumes between VIII and IX as you suggested, but have kept the linking material note for the avoidance of confusion

I think for the sake of simplicity it's easier to avoid getting into "director's cut" versions of the episodes unless there are major differences - I'm sure the only versions available now (eg on Disney+) will be the most complete, "canon" versions, so as long as new viewers get the episodes legally, they'll probably be fine.

On an unrelated note, I've moved Dooku: Jedi Lost to a more appropriate location - I'd forgotten it had a "present day" story featuring Ventress, who wasn't even born at the time of Master & Apprentice, where it originally was on the timeline.

No, it's just an adaptation of the show, and this timeline doesn't include adaptations that just repeat a story

Hi, couple more questions.
1. Choose Your Destiny: A Han and Chewie Adventure is listed twice. Which place does it go?

2. Where Would I add the Ghost Ship.

1. Apologies! I've deleted the second placement - it should take place between Solo and Rebels, as Han still looks like "Young Han" and has not yet grown into Harrison Ford.

2. It's best enjoyed as part of "Destroyer Down", as flashbacks in the back of each issue rather than being taken out as a separate thing, so just read it as printed

Also, I've updated the timeline with all the latest media! Since the comics are now all starting again from #1, the new ones are getting (2020) in brackets to differentiate them from the original 2015 run.
