Basically I'm trying to fit Sarah Conner, Salvation and Genysis (the 2029 part) into one timeline. Then similar to Days Of Future Past, the timeline is reset at the end of Genysis which may be setting up the reboot.

Well, they confirmed that all the films are canon to the Terminator Zero animated series.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles actually suggests the first film is 1983 and the second is 1997, if I recall correctly. It's easy enough to ignore that. Also, I think John Connor believes his birthday is in November 1983 rather than February 1985. Uuuuuh... he and his mom got confused by all the time travel and became a bit daft. That, or the events were literally shifted around due to time travel.

My suggestion is to literally completely ignore that and assume the show picks up 4 years after T2. The rest of it will make sense later.

You could even have Terminator Zero first, and the original timeline in that could be the original timeline of the films too, so basically the flashbacks to the future war come from that timeline.

Terminator Zero actually explains it as a multiverse where nothing gets erased, so both the original movie and the TV show could both branch off from the same future war timeline while existing independently.

So, either at the start or end for that one.
