Yeah they tried to 'redeem' or 'humanize', I guess, the rapist character.

That never works from a writing standpoint. Especially after Cate's story about him in season 1...
That... WHAT?! So in other words, they pulled a 13 Reasons Why on the rapist?! That's just so ****** up and tone deaf.

(For context, 13RW has two rapists (Bryce and Monty) that are given sympathetic aspects/redeeming qualities in Seasons 3 & 4, despite both being vile scumbags in the original two seasons.)

You can never convince me that Sage is even a good character. I just found her to be so bloody obnoxious for what was essentially someone who was a literal walking example of the "Smartest person in the world" trope.
I can see how her being an obnoxious know-it-all can be grating but I didn't mind it bc it was funny at times and pretty clearly manipulating people toward her greater goal

I always liked that she actually challenged Homelander, but at the time I didn't like that their approach to her masterminding was "Heh actually I was behind it even when I wasn't around."

After rewatching Sesson 4, I appreciated that aspect a bit more (I could finally relate to having to orchestrate something around someone being a petty moron). They kinda lean into that here, but in reverse since she orchestrated a plan around someone nearly as smart as her but it fell apart bc Godolkin was a know-it-all who knew less

I also appreciated their approach to the "why doesn't this genius just fix everything?" question that comes up with super-genius characters, because there's nothing realer than knowing you're right and something entirely preventable happening bc you didn't get listened to.

Understandable. Personally, though, she's trying too hard to be a Magnificent Baddie or a villainous chessmaster, a la a certain BLEACH villain (Aizen) whom I've been spoiled to death and back on about, despite being nowhere near his stuff.

That works for YJ's Vandal Savage, cause he gained his knowledge from 50,000 years of life.

April 8, 2026 when the final season premieres.

Looks like winter time but ice is melting so August 2023 + 6 months = February 2024 seems accurate.

The new trailer is out for the final season but I can't post it due to it being too ****. Just look it up.

There is definitely snow in the trailer, but no Christmas lights.
It has snowed in February before, so January or February fits.

The year retcon, inevitably, I'm concerned about....

Well, excuse me for being disgusted by the shock value of this show and the hypocritical double standards they're doing with Female SA (serious) vs Male SA ("dark comedy" my ******* ass, Kripke, you talentless hack!), not to mention unlikeable/insufferable characters like Sister ******* Sage (seriously, she REALLY pisses me off with her smug attitude and whole "I'm the smartest person on the planet" trait).
If you don't like the show though why do you keep engaging with it?

Crossed level violence in what regard?

I feel like we don't need to talk about how either degrees of violence are equally ****… I get upset watching innocent people die in horror films like Terrifier because I do not believe in an afterlife, the same way people get upset at films like Irreversible because of the nature of the tunnel scene with the nasty creeper.

I won't get into that anymore but it is ALL **** and thus I am being considerate by not showing exploding guts on a clean board.
