The Boys (TV Series) - Timeline

Holy fucking shit….
Context: They didn't go full cynical with Sam's family reunion.

YET. Screw spoilers, the cynical nature lately has burned me of this universe, especially how Hughie's dad went out, but I appreciate that Sam's parents didn't get blasted by their son, they forgive him for a BRIEF lash out he had (no one died) and actually gave him character growth and comfort by the end of the newest episode.

Keep it that way, writers.

Noticed the episode had a calendar matching September 2025. There's nothing that states the school year has to start in August so this could fit (obviously ignoring the days of the week matching 2025) or enough time's passed to where the past couple episodes are in early September.

This universe is so dower I fully expected Sam to kill them both. It's nice to not have people die every couple minutes for once.

The September calendar is definitely a clue of the month, but I don't think they show the year on it so...not overt enough, again.

I put it as late-August because they were captured and sent to the juvie prison in September of the previous year...they always referring to that time locked up as "many months ago". Putting the 2nd season entirely in September wouldn't make sense why they wouldn't refer to it as "a year ago".

Yeah they don't show the year but the days of the week on the calendar match 2025. Not saying it means much, just noting. S1 isn't specific in when it's starts either beyond it being the start of the Fall semester, we just assume the school year is the same as any university when that necessarily dosen't have to be the case and it could begin in September as much as August. I'm just saying if need be it could move. Even if it's close to a year (given both seasons start at the beginning of the school year and not much times passes in S1 it'd have to be) I still think they can refer to their time since the finale as months.

Look at what had to be done with Iron Fist on the MCU timeline. They refer to the events of the first season as being months ago even though at that point it'd be well over a year.

Say what you will about Garth Ennis, but atleast the comics gave Hughie and Annie a Happy Ending (and handled certain subjects more tactfully than the show did). By the way things are going, the show's probably gonna give them both a Downer Ending.

I wouldn't be shocked if they are the last survivors in the show too, considering what Season 5 episode 7 is titled...
