HALLOWEEN MULTIVERSE TIMELINE

Right in time for October and Halloween, I give you the Halloween Multiverse!

This covers all films/comics in the Halloween franchise and their respective timelines. It includes:

FILMS:
-------

Halloween (1978)
Halloween II (1981)
Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)
Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Halloween (2007)
Halloween II (2009)
Halloween (2018)
Halloween Kills (2021)
Halloween Ends (2022)

COMICS:
----------

Halloween #1 (2000)
Halloween II: The Blackest Eyes (2001)
Halloween III: The Devil's Eyes (2001)
Halloween: One Good Scare (2003)
Halloween: Autopsis (2006)
Halloween: Nightdance (2008)
Halloween: 30 Years of Terror (2008)
Halloween: The First Death of Laurie Strode (2008)

NOTE: I am attempting to nail down a few of the comics. As soon as I can get them, I will add them...but, for now, everything is looking good and I am releasing the timeline as is.

I have read that there are young adult novels -- but that they have no linked continuity to any of the main stories in the franchise. I may include them if I can find them. If I can't, then they will remain excluded until I can locate them.

Anyhow, enjoy!

This is amazing! Do you think you could do Freddy and Jason?

I am actually entertaining the idea. I just have to get a hold of all the media first. I think there were comics, too. Also, did the TV shows have anything to do with their universe?

im not sure. ill look into it

edit: okay so for the friday the 13th tv series, this what it hasta say "Mancuso, Jr. never intended to link the television show directly to the film series, but he utilized "the idea of Friday the 13th, which is that it symbolizes bad luck and curses". The creators wanted to tie‑in Jason's trademark hockey mask to the series, but the idea was discarded so that the show could have a chance to exist on its own."

edit: for the nightmare on elm street series, its anthology

Yeah...I may leave them out...I mean, if it's name only.

Great timeline, I always find it odd that Halloween has a suprisingly convoluted timeline.

couple of things though:

1) my understanding is that Halloween (2018) is based on the original edit of Halloween (1978), as Halloween 2 (1981) is actually a sequel to the TV edit of Halloween '78 which included extra plot details which Halloween '18 outright makes non-canon

2) I think I heard that one of the comics ties the Thorn trilogy and the H20 movies into the same timeline? although I havent read them so I couldnt say for certain

The Nightmare series is connected but it sorta contradicts the movies. I think you could argue that the first Freddy episode, which is a flashback to his origin, is told from his perspective hence the small inconsistencies. I don't think it's fair to say that it isn't canon at all because it does try to tie-in with the films. The Friday the 13th TV series isn't though.

I would suggest leaving the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash comic out and including every other comic tie-in instead (which are contradicted by said comic). Otherwise we're looking at including almost all Dynamite Comics because of crossovers as well as the Chucky films and Hatchet. I feel more inclined to believe that's an alternate universe where some of these films happen differently.

I would argue that at the very least, the Nightmare/Friday films share a multiverse with Evil Dead, Halloween, Child's Play, Hatchet, and Texas Chainsaw because of all the Easter Eggs between those films and even the Friday the 13th video game. I've always maintained that they should all have separate timelines and then make a combined timeline just for fun.

Just as an example, the Friday the 13th video game references Hatchet, which references Jason Voorhees and Leslie Vernon and connects with Frozen, with Leslie Vernon referencing Jason, Freddy, Michael, Chucky and features "Billy", with Chucky referencing Freddy, Jason, Michael (4-6), and Leatherface, with Texas Chainsaw character Stretch appearing in Hatchet III under a different alias (thus connecting Texas 1-4 and 2022), and Evil Dead tying into Jason Goes to Hell. Leatherface is also referenced in one of the Friday the 13th comics. It's basically a giant mess of horror films, lol. I think it would be fun eventually having 50 horror films on one timeline, but it isn't really necessary.

It ties into a version of H20 but it's not the same universe. It doesn't exactly fit timeline-wise and Resurrection can't happen because Laurie lost an eye and Michael is supposedly dead.

I think you're right about it connecting the H20 films into the Thorn Trilogy. I'm not quite sure which one. Somebody told me it was the "Death of Laurie Strode" comic.

I mean, if he adds all the other horror films it would just be your Slasherverse timeline

I could do an "unofficial multiverse" on this page involving all the other continuities...but that's gonna take some digging...lol...

No need to do that, haha. I just meant on a technical sense, they're all loosely related in that some of these killers exist in the others' continuities. It makes sense to bunch them up on the same "multiverse" due to the shared existences across universes.

Oh, and of course an unofficial shared universe timeline to account for those connections too.

It would be the same movies, but it wouldn't be the same. There's already a timeline for the Child's Play movies on this site actually.

I saw that. I was gonna try to timeline that but, damn...I love the timeliners here.

Hey @Pro Bot: is there a TImeline section on this site? There should be one for all the timelines...LOL

I think I might work on an Evil Dead Cinematic Universe timeline by the way, just to let you know.
