I had an idea for a superhero story about a bunch of kids who get super powers, but can't use them because they don't get the supporting power that they need. Like a guy who has the ability to stick to walls but has no upper body strength and can't climb. Or a kid who has super speed but has really bad asthma. Or even a girl who can fly but is terrified of heights. I think it would be funny and interesting.

That sounds fun, and could be used to play with the concept of irony, as well as causality/fate if you chose to delve into it more.
 
I found out today my birth father's name is Brian Wilson. I'm not saying I'm the founder of the Beach Boys son, but...
