I've been working on this actually! Mostly just a little side project but I originally just started out focusing on the CW Archieverse stuff and then when PLL was brought in I had to go rewatch that whole franchise for timestamps. The time jump in PLL takes place the same time as the first few seasons of Riverdale so it's been fun working that out along with the tie in comics and novels. The supernatural stuff in Ravenswood and CAOS are surprisingly similar too so it's not a far fetched connection. I'll probably post it when i'm eventually done.

Here's the viewing order I've been working on with the years from the detailed timeline, the Pretty Little Liars side of it is finished but I'm currently rewatching Riverdale Season 3 / Sabrina Season 1 so those might get shifted. The tie in stuff around those are just temporary placements.

There are some flashback episodes but they make better sense in release order after previous flashbacks/have a present day framing device. Off the top of my head Pretty Little Liars 2x13 is set entirely in 2008 and Riverdale 3x04 tells a event from the 90s and 5x12 the 80s-90s.

CAOS takes place just over a year and could be either 2018-2019 or 2019-2020, Season 1 says it takes place "this year" and some of the calendars match 2018 while others don't. It doesn't work perfectly with Season 3 of Riverdale though and I know there's some small crossovers in the novels I haven't read yet which is making me lean toward it going in 2019-2020 with Season 4, both shows run on different calendars though lmao.

The tie in comics and novels have questionable canonicity but they're official so I've included them for the fun of just throwing in everything. #5 gets directly mentioned in an episode of Season 2 and #6 connects with Season 6 but others are directly retconned or make no sense. Its tough finding gaps in the season to place them so you have to suspend your disbelief a little but its Riverdale so thats expected. #9 can't go anywhere else but Archie's arm is magically not in a cast. Some of these are also mentioned in the novels but changes details, #11 happens twice apparently. I couldn't find a way to make the Maple Murders work so it has to be non canon, basically takes place during 3x10 - 3x12 with some characters acting like those episodes haven't happened yet while others referencing them? The Season 3 comics are pretty good though at sticking to canon.

Pretty Little Liars has a never ending November with 3x13 being Halloween 2011 and 5x12 being Thanksgiving 2011 so everything in between (including Ravenswood) takes place within a few weeks. Riverdale's September 2017 (1x01 - 1x09) also seems to go on longer than it should.

Riverdale jumps forward seven years in Season 5 but continues referring to the year as whatever the present is so there's somehow 7 years between 2020 and 2021. Some people treat this as a retcon moving S1-4 back but PLL(2022) has to go before Season 6 and is set in 2022 so shuffles it forward to where it should be, just ignore whenever they state a year lol.

It is pretty fun massively overthinking this franchise, Season 3 of Riverdale can't seem to decide if a previous episode happened months ago or a week ago and you really have to just throw out Jughead's narration because it never matches up with what's onscreen.

CAOS could basically go anywhere from 2016 - 2019, Season 1 says it takes place "this year" and some of the calendars match 2018 while others don't. It doesn't work perfectly with Season 3 of Riverdale though and I know there's some small crossovers in the novels I haven't read yet which is making me lean toward it going in 2019-2020 with Season 4, both shows run on different calendars though lmao.

The tie in comics and novels have questionable canonicity but they're official so I've included them for the fun of just throwing in everything. #5 gets directly mentioned in an episode of Season 2 and #6 connects with Season 6 but others are directly retconned or make no sense. Its tough finding gaps in the season to place them so you have to suspend your disbelief a little but its Riverdale so thats expected. #9 can't go anywhere else but Archie's arm is magically not in a cast. Some of these are also mentioned in the novels but changes details, #11 happens twice apparently. I couldn't find a way to make the Maple Murders work so it has to be non canon, basically takes place during 3x10 - 3x12 with some characters acting like those episodes haven't happened yet while others referencing them? The Season 3 comics are pretty good though at sticking to canon.

Pretty Little Liars has a never ending November with 3x13 being Halloween 2011 and 5x12 being Thanksgiving 2011 so everything in between (including Ravenswood) takes place within a few weeks. Riverdale's September 2017 (1x01 - 1x09) also seems to go on longer than it should.

Riverdale jumps forward seven years in Season 5 but continues referring to the year as whatever the present is so there's somehow 7 years between 2020 and 2021. Some people treat this as a retcon moving S1-4 back but PLL(2022) has to go before Season 6 and is set in 2022 so shuffles it forward to where it should be, just ignore whenever they state a year lol.

It is pretty fun massively overthinking this franchise, Season 3 of Riverdale can't seem to decide if a previous episode happened months ago or a week ago and you really have to just throw out Jughead's narration because it never matches up with what's onscreen.

No problem its given me a push to get back into it. I've really been loving rewatching Season 3, the show gets wayyy too much hate when they fully intended to make it crazy. S3 and 6-7 are the most unhinged and easily the best. Season 1 being a generic teen murder mystery is so dull to revisit .

From what I'm looking it up that's actually not a new timeline. It's closed loop where they were sent back to their timeline's 1955 and the future ends up "secure" by the end of the season. So theoretically one could watch Season 7 before literally everything else in this universe but that would be a little silly obviously lol

I definitely need to rewatch it but I think they change too much for it to be the original timeline. Their original ancestors just don't exist. We're probably thinking about it harder than the writers did but I treat it similar to Days of Future Past with it branching off.
