Ultimate X-Men: "X-Factor" arc
(takes place after "... Dangerous Game")

Entrepreneur and 'adult entertainer' Candy Southern launches X-Factor, a line of softcore 'mutant fetish' video productions, with the premise of mutants using their talents for 'recreational purposes'. Their biggest star is Sienna Blaze, whose manipulation of electrons in the human body can heighten pleasure centers.

Needless to say, Professor Xavier is concerned about what kind of effect this might have on mutants' public image, since family values groups are citing it as a convenient way of associating mutancy with a larger breakdown in moral values.

But things get far worse than imagined, when Blaze turns up dead in her apartment, the apparent victim of a hate-crime.

The 'senior class' goes in to investigate, and uncovers that Southern's operations are being funded by Cameron Hodge, an old family pal of Warren Worthington. Hodge recently inherited a vast fortune, and this appears to be his first major investment. Warren is assigned to confront Southern, regarding the whereabouts of Hodge, but things get complicated when Angel begins to give in to Southern's flirtatious charms (also upsetting Dazzler, who hates competition).

With a little subterfuge -- Shadowcat breaking and entering into X-Factor's studio, perhaps, under Xavier's telepathic guidance -- they discover that the whole operation is actually a sick scheme to round up mutants, turn them into porn celebrities, then eventually martyr them for profit, marketing it as genetic snuff kink.

Can the X-Men find a way to legally expose Hodge's plans? Or will they have to resort to force to stop him?

Woah! That's another great idea Compound. I like the more real life stories. I've got a new cool Vulture idea but I need to type it up...

Isn't that essentially the X-Ranch storyline with stacy X?
There are superficial similarities, yes. But it isn't any more similar to the X-Ranch story than "Cry Wolf" is to "Dominant Species".

X-Ranch, as I remember it: mutant brothel opens up using Worthington money. Mutant-hating religious nuts, The Church of Humanity, burn it down, kidnap Stacy. The X-Men rescue her, with Warren leading the charge. Pretty much a straightforward Saturday-morning-cartoon-esque plot, given an X-rated twist.

I'd like to believe my version is far more insidious. Here, the money-man behind X-Factor itself -- Hodge -- plans to use mutant snuff porn as a front for killing off the 'talent' X-Factor rounds up. This also mirrors the way 616 Hodge manipulated the original X-Factor project, which originally presented itself as a mutant-hunting operation that was actually sabotaged from within, by covertly providing sanctuary for mutant youth.

Its an interesting idea but I'd be wary of using someone like Siena Blaze as this character, just because you sort of sent her 616 powers out the window. I'd prefer it was Stacy X for a few reasons including the connection to X-ranch story line and I hate Stacy X and wouldn't mind in the least if she died.

Honestly, I picked Blaze primarily because her name already sounds like it belongs to a porn star. :p

Also, I extrapolated her powers based on my understanding of 616, and, er, high-school biology -- that is, manipulating electron flow in the body (and thus messing around with the sensitivity of human flesh) would probably be a limited version of her original power to control electromagnetic fields, yes? Unless my memory is failing me...

I think this storyline would own if one of those "family groups" got swallowed up in an earthquake or something. Just on the news station in the background when the x-men hear about the death. :D

:D More so than X-stacy?

I'd have to check but she could manipulate the electromagnetic fields to do things like blow stuff up and teleport and shoot energy blasts, not the fine detail control orgasmic and sensory stimulation requires.

Wow, so many of your threads end up in talking with big words about sex. What an odd trend.

I don't think it'll ever happen, especially in the Ultimate Universe, so further speculation is rather pointless. It's an interesting idea, but I'm pretty sure it goes beyond the All Ages rating.

Good god, you actually made Cameron Hodge's anti-mutant insanity not only plausible, but psychologically diagnosable! Da Fug!

While this doesn't fit the mold of an all ages title and certainly something only the twisted mind of Millar would actually plot, the idea is fantastic. I think that a lot of what's not happening in UXM right now is the fact that there are these plots that are so elementary that we've neglected to realize that the title was based on political and ethical conflicts and feuds that Millar created... This idea, putting that idea back into the title, would revitalize what's been missing from this title; the barren, gritty plots that get the gears going in someone's head rather than just entertaining someone for about 32 pages. I think you've got a great head on your shoulder, Compound. ;)
