Ellis or Millar: The Better UFF run.

Warren Ellis or Mark Millar's UFF run?

Millar's run left lots of cool 'in's' for other writers to pick up if they choose, but left nothing undone. The stories were fun and 'fantastic'.

Ellis' N-zone arc was pretty vacuous - did you really find Annihilus menacing? I found him disappointingly cartoony. Did we need a two page spread of the space shuttle? Wasn't the first 'cliffhanger', at the end of the first issue something like a full page spread of Reed saying, 'let's go to the N-zone', and everyone else on the team having gaping mouths? (I just don't find that dramatic or exciting) Wasn't the second (or was it third) issue them just in a shuttle? Saying it was 'characterization' doesn't work for me - too Bendis-esque to think lack of action equals cerebral...it CAN, but sometimes, it can be boring.

Weren't you fooled by the whole 'crossover' thing? Didn't you love the zombies? Didn't you like looking to see some traditional characters 'zombified'? Didn't you enjoy seeing Namor?...or how about the Super Skrull - weren't you confused by the 'time jumps' of the first two stories, only to see how simple and cool the explanation was in the third? Did you really like the Doom characterization better in the Doom arc than in the Frightful arc? Didn't Doom seem majestic/evil/arrogant yet noble (and badass) in Frightful? Wasn't it cool to introduce Johnny and Sue's mom?

Obviously these are just my opinions (and by the look of the poll, I'm in the minority :) ) I'm actually going to remember the Millar issues as the ones that saved the title for me, and made it a must-read.

...but what do we have? 30-some issues? I'm glad there's something to debate! Liking one more than the other means you probably didn't hate both. If Ult Iron Man II turns out like part I, will we bother having a poll?

Ellis's run was great and all, no doubting that. But! I had more fun reading Millar's run with all the great things he did with his time.

Millar over Ellis.

I actually did not prefer one or the other in entirety because both kept me interested in the comic book itself. Loved the N-Zone and the Frightful Four arc.

You might as I'm probably one of the only, if not the only person here who liked the "Ultimate Iron Man" story.

In order: No, not really, could have lived without it, eh, what about him - knew it would be explained in the third so didn't give it much thought, Millar did Doom better, yup(except majestic), and not really.

And there will be an UIM2 thread. It'll be "Which was worse, 1 or 2?"

I liked UIM as well and I think either MWoF or VVD knows this because I said it in the introductory page. Am I the second account? :D

He's new to comics and doesn't know why he should hate it.

No I just liked it. Even though I am new to comics (Its almost been a year) I think I could have an opinion wheter something is bad or not. The Magician arc of UXM was much worse than UIM in my opinion. But in order for it to be worse that means UIM was bad, but it isn't. Go read it over guys.

Are. . .are you asking me to re-read Ultimate Iron Man?

I mean. . .I have extra copies of it in the bathroom, but I like my shiny toliet paper.

Ew. UIM, gross.

Is it possible to ban someone for making us think about that particular arc?

No, the Morbius arc was 95-96 while the Silver Sable arc ended at 90 with the full appearance of Vulture. Correct?

Yes, and? What does this have to do with my editorial decision to omit USM 91-94 from history?

I decided to not trust Thor's opinion.

He didn't like Ultimate Galactus or Silver Surfer. The fool.

He thought they were robots.
