The Great Comic Challenge!!!!

o_O thats weirdin' me out, because the current series is the only thing i've read.

Yeah, I was a bit supprised at how much there was of it too. I might just get a lot off eBay. No chance in hell my LCS is carrying any of that. Hell, I concider it a miracle that I'll be able to buy a copy of Criminal tomorrow.

Hero Squared!

Started with a One Shot. Carried on in a 3 issue mini, and now an ongoing series. Thing is, I think the one-shot and the mini are published by different companies, but I do think Boom! has reprinted them mini and one-shot in one TPB.

Brilliant series by the way.

Well, I have like 4 right now...

Of course I only ahve 1 book to pick up so far.

VVD - Jonah Hex - ?
Dr. Strangefate - Cassanova - ?
ZombiePanda - Goon Noir - Escapists
McCheese - All Star Superman - ?

Lemmie know before tomorrow guys, I'm going to get what I can at my LCS, then order the rest online.

do you remember our original bargain?

Walking dead for Spiderman India?

and to let you know how much this works, this is how i became a fan of the Walking Dead, MWoF became a fan of the Runaways, and how Nur started reading DC (and he HATES DC)

and i'll take anyone up on a challenge,

I'm in the process of hunting down a Jonah Hex trade at the local bookstore/shops.

Jimmy Palmiotti just did the around comics podcast. On it they talk Hex, Daughters of the Dragon, Heros for Hire, and even get Amanda Conner in on the action. It was pretty good, I just wish Justin Grey could have done it too.

Ah, you should have talked to me, I would have steered you towards a better one, but the first novel of Discworld should do you fine.

It turns out my brother has Hellblazer novels. I'll be seeing hiim sometime next week

Mort for example. The Colour of Magic was very early in Pratchetts writing, and is very rough. I think Strata was a smother read and it was a prototype Discworld book, not actualy one.

I agree, around Guards, Guards he really finds his footing in the world, and the books get alot smoother after that.

Hey Vic, since you're looking for a Jonah Hex trade how about I pick up the Daughters of the Dragon TPB fo our trade. I remember you were quite on about that.

Deal.

The book store here said they were getting a shipment of new graphic novels this week so I hope Jonah Hex is in that stack.

If not, this Saturday is Customer Appreciation Day at my LCS.....so while I'm waiting around for raffling and whatnot I'll check out Jonah there.

So it looks as if I'll be reading Jonah sometme this weekend.

Word of advice when reading DoD. Try to picture it as a Tarantino film. Because that's basically what it is.

I found it funny that your trade is by the same writers...

Finally read Jonah Hex................and everyone else should too!

Classic western one-shots! Loved it. Some of the art was left to be desired....but not so much that it was a hinderance to the book. And I loved how when they changed scene they gave each new location an "incident title" like Massacre at Big Horn or When It All Falls Down.

Great book. I definitely recommend it to anyone who's a western fan.

Ok....new recommendation---

Kurt Busiek's "Superman---Secret Identity". Great book......and GREAT art by Immonen.
