How many members speak foreign languages?

I speak a foreign language...English.

I'm also fluent in the Irish language. I have terrible German, although I've been learning for five years and I have very basic French as well, as I was learning it for three years.

I refuse to learn other languages. If you've read the story of the Tower of Babel, you know that all languages other than American English are sinful.

Edit: I call them satanguages.

Irish is an awesome language, but it is the most difficult language to transcribe ever...

It is the LEAST phoenetical language ever.

But its still pretty sexy, so I approve.

watashi sukoshi hanashimasu nihongo.

Ich spreche Deutsch, fliessend.

And I'm rilly good at mangling the english language.

Do you know Hiberno-Irish?

Grew up in an English-speaking household, and it's my first language.

I speak Tagalog/Pilipino with moderate fluency, but I can't quite hide my my "neutralized" American accent -- the result to attending American-run international schools in Hong Kong and Singapore, during elementary school. (So people who are judgemental about cultural issues normally assume that I'm an "Am-Boy" -- semi-derisive term for Filipino who grew up in America.)

I can write competenetly in Tagalog though, because I have time to think about what I want to say (picking the correct word; using the proper tense).

I took French for four years, and I can watch French movies without subtitles, but I can't articulate my thoughts fast enough to respond in French, during a conversation.

I had some basic German classes (same class as Matt/Ourchair in college), but I've forgotten the bulk of it. But I can understand "Claremont-level" German as a result

I speak a little Gort, too -- Klaatu barada nikto.

My family is German, Nicaraguan and Chinese...and I've been exposed to all of the related languages extensively since birth. While I can kind of understand them, if I concentrate hard, I can't speak or write any worth crap. I can speak English though. I can write in English too. I bet you're all pretty impressed.
