Hi y'all,
Though I'm sure none of you remember, I promised in my last thread that I was working on a new batch of pieces for my Amesville characters and that I'd show 'em here when finished. Well, here are a number of them. There's still a handful coming. I opted for a different tone and style here; images that didn't show off powers, but more the personalities and characters themselves. I like the realistic figure work with the stylistic black and whites; I find it pleasantly jarring.
Unfortunately, something that still bugs me, is that because of a lack of decent equipment I had to use two different pens for the inking; one thick and one thin, and both different brands. So, you can kinda see different shades of black in there. But anyway.....

wow thats some really skillful stuff. lips? eyes? noses? you are the envy of the freeze

Love the shading, I could really see someone using your work for a crime-drama comic.

good to have you back, fuzzy birds.

greats stuff as always- i have always especially loved your invisible man drawings.

Great job!

Those are exceptional. They really give me a 100 Bullets vibe. Nice job.

This stuff is great. It quite reminds me of Gary Erskine's work with Warren Ellis on City of Silence.

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone! Just updated with one of Anthea, and will be working on a few more this week; mostly characters I haven't put on paper yet, so I'm pretty excited about that!

Hey again.
Thought I may as well use this thread as a means to showcase any and all various artworks, not necessarily related to any of my comic endeavours. At the moment I'm working on a number of pieces, all separate from eachother and only linked loosely by style. I've designed each one as a statement of sorts, but more than anything I just wanted to put some ideas on paper. I'll let you decide what I'm trying to say with them, but I don't mind if it's misinterpreted. After all, arts such a personal thing that there is no standard meaning for any one piece or other. Anyway, enough rambling, here it is!

The next piece is actual my first serious attempt at a self portrait. I drew my ex and myself together a few times, but never attempted one of just myself. After years drawing others around me, I decided to turn my eye on myself and see what I could come up with.

****in awesome man.

Seriously. I love it.

The latest. This one came to me after I'd just finished my very short little story, The Names We Used To Know. Not exactly a companion piece or anything, more like an adaptation of sorts, into a different medium. The message is essentially the same as the short stories.

After a couple months drought, this image just came to me this evening, and I finished it up pretty quickly. It's Jenny, one of the Aamesville characters who I've been having a bit of trouble getting visually. It's not perfect, but the tone and atmosphere is her, through and through, so I'm quite happy about that.

Strangely, even though it's based on a photo of my ex, she reminds of a celebrity here, and I can't think who....
