Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

You know what kind of pissed me off? The last eight Isaac paintings. I mean his role in the first season was so big and they really could of used the last paintings to set up something much bigger and could have been sought after much longer. Each painting, save for the last two were pretty predictable outcomes when they were revealed. I think Noah's death was a huge reveal, but as something that is retcon pretty much immediately it's a poor final painting. I wished it was something like teasing the next uber villain, even if he didn't appear until next season. Just something bigger

I've read the first 40 pages of this thread. I'll read the rest later.

Heroes is a good show. It's not the best.

I like Lost better. I think Lost's first season was a much better start then this. And I hope Heroes stays good, I can see it going to the way of Smallville, but I can actually see it getting better. I agree with old points that Bass made that Heroes actually pays off the mysteries faster.

Heroes is different and quirky?. There are some moments that are just strange. I don't know how to describe it.

And Prison Break is the best show on television. You all are strange.

I tend to agree, Random. There's this whole thing that if you put Isaac's paintings together, they tell the future.

It would've been cool if someone, say Noah, suddenly stumbled across a hidden future event that even Isaac wasn't aware of, hidden throughout all his paintings, and there's several missing - because Isaac never painted them. All of a sudden, tracking down Peter or Sylar is damned important. The trick to that would be working out, in extreme detail, 'the future', and then working out which bits need to be out in the open for the story to kick off, and which bits work best as a dramatic turn. It could be a really cool thing to do.

What they did here - I liked, as it was very personal and well done - but like you, it's a bit anti-expectation simply because last season, his paintings forecast the end of the modern era of humanity. And this season - it's about a guy getting shot (even if the guy is super mega fun awesome). Not only that, but the paintings don't link. The Niki and Peter paintings don't have any relevance to the shooting of Noah, so yeah - what worked REALLY worked, and so, I don't mind too much that some of it was just completely arbitrary and desperate hooks.

Does that mean its retarded?

No. Just different.

Do you mean quirky? Corky's not even a word. Unless of course you're referencing the all-time classic Corky Romano.

Yes.

What he said.

DJF with the save.

I was joking. It was a reference to Chris Burke's character, Corky, from the early 90's family drama Life Goes On. Sorry, was more obscure than I thought.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

bleagh. this was not great. too neatly wrapped up, too fast, too uncharacteristic. and corny. the dialogue was horrible.

all i could think during this was "oh, god, he's writing the ultimates. oh, god, he's writing the ultimates."

Eh, it was alright. Nathan dying, though, and by, presumably, HRG no less. . .wow. And Hiro trapping Adam in a coffin was rather ingenious, badass and sadistic all at the same time. The rest of the episode was rather meh, though. Sylar getting his powers back is nice, but I didn't like HRG going back to the Company. It just seems like a step back. Oh, and I could have cared less about Niki dying. I'm just afraid that Monica is going to become the new Niki. Micah's surrogate mother, trying to live a normal life, completely separated from the main plot.

As for it being wrapped up too nicely, I think that was intentional for two reasons. One is the strike and they didn't know when the show would restart and two is to give the show a fresh slate after this mediocre season.

Hopefully, volume 3 (Villains!) is good, otherwise I think I'm going to give up on this show.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It was a real enjoyable episode.

The death of Ali Larter didn't matter, though... She's hot, but we've got Hayden. Whatever, I guess. I only hope that there's less Monica and Micah. Killing Niki just made the two of these characters very irrelevant.

Nathan dying... What a bummer. I actually did scream out "what the ****" in my dorm. I was real pissed. I thought that exploiting the Company would mean a very interesting dynamic - it would have given Bob and Elle a very cool angle... Only we've got HRG coming back to the Company and seemingly killing the Flying Man. What the ****'s going on with that, anyway? He killed Claire's biological father... I am wondering what the point of that even was now... Anyway, I hope there's more of an impact of the Company persisting and Nathan falling than I can predict.

And about some of the mystery at the end...

Did Mama Patrelli put the Comapny up to killing her own son? Holy ****. And what's with "Pandora's Box" she was talking about?

And with Villains... Man, I thought they were gonna set it up to have Adam give Sylar's power back so they could become a team or something.

Also while I'm ranting - Mohinder should just die already. All he's good for is jokes about a broken nose and narrations. Also, kill Parkman, too. Greg Grunberg is such an irritating actor.

Alright, I'm done.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I don't think Nathan or Nikki are dead.

Come on, Peter has to realize he can heal him with his blood.

And there was no body for Nikki. I think she somehow survived.

I just hope that the blood thing doesn't become a total deus ex machina.

But I enjoyed the episode and looking forward to Sylar's "return".

I have a feeling he will kill Adam at some point and take his power.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Come on, Peter has to realize he can heal him with his blood.

Nope. Peter's blood doesn't work that way. He mimics the healing abilities of Adam and Claire, his blood doesn't actually have them. Otherwise, why would he have needed Adam to heal Nathan in the first place?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Because he didn't know about it?

That doesn't make sense to be, he should mimic all of their powers.

He can. But his blood can't.

And how wouldn't he have known about it? He knew he had healing powers thanks to Claire. If he knew Adam could do it, wouldn't he figure he could as well?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It was meh.

But he did the best he could given the unfortunate circmstances around this season.

I do, however, need more sexy-slightly psycho Kristen Bell. God I love crazy women.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It was enjoyable, I liked a lot of things, Nathan getting shot really surprised me. I was expecting something like the Haitian turning off his powers so no one believes him.

This episode suffered the same thing that all the other did, horrible pacing, they really could have utilize time better throughout the season. I'm certain they won't repeat this mistake once the strike is over
