Just for fun, what is the best and the worst version of the future in comics?
Earth X. Pure awesome.
I'm pretty sure I've come across a future --- maybe not in comics --- that was filled with pink bunny rabbits.Isn't it interesting that 9 times out of 10, the future really sucks? Its either a dystopian dictatorship, a cyber punk nightmare or everything is run by a psychotic super villain and there's a 50/50 chance that a nuclear holocaust has already occured.
There is never a future filled with pink bunny rabbits.

It was, however, dystopic nonetheless.
Simple answer; there are better stories to tell with an apocalyptic future.Isn't it interesting that 9 times out of 10, the future really sucks? Truth. Also, most utopias are presented as anti-utopias, meaning that they are only perfect on the surface: the consequence of their perfection is usually something that constricts the people.Simple answer; there are better stories to tell with an apocalyptic future.
