Captain America Movie

TBM

BY ODIN'S GREAT WHITE BEARD!!!!

Those posters have rocked me like a hurricane!

Honestly...I want Sam Worthington as my Captain America.

I was actually thinking yesterday how awesome of a choice he would be for it. The rate he's going he's going to be the biggest action star in the world in about three years.

Dude is on fire!

Aside from looking perfect for the role, he's still young enough that should he be locked into a multi-film franchise, he's still got time to do it and it not look like he's too old for the part (ala Tobey Macguire).

Re: Clash of the Titans Remake

Sam Worthington's not a great choice for Cap....In fact I'd be really disappointed if he was cast.

I don't know, certifiable action skills, great acting ability and a pretty damn close appearance to the character seems like he would be good for it.

You see, the problem is that you are using logic and good judgment. Stop that.

He doesn't really look that much like Cap. And I've only seen him in Terminator Salvation, and his acting was pretty bad. I don't know why James Cameron is calling him such a great actor. Maybe he'll be good in Avatar, but in Terminator he could barely disguise his accent. And that's another thing: a non-American should not be playing Captain America. If it were any other character, like Batman or Superman or Spider-Man, I'd be fine with it. But Captain America is the greatest symbol of patriotism in comics. It's like having a white guy play MLK. Or a Jew playing Hitler.

No offense, but that is the biggest crock of crap.

America is a melting pot, and one of the greatest ones in the world. Our founding fathers were foreign men who shared an ideal. The ideal is what makes Captain America, not the Man, that's the whole friggen point to the post Steve Rogers stories in 616. So disallowing an actor, just because they weren't born on american soil is painfully stupid and naive. It'd be like saying someone shouldn't be allowed to serve in the US Military because they weren't born here.

On the subject at hand, I'm so excited for Clash of the Titans, it isn't even funny.

Re: Clash of the Titans Remake

I actually didn't think he was bad in Terminator. The movie wasn't that great but I thought he played the part pretty well, all things considered.

And comparing an Aussie playing an American to a Jew playing Hitler or a white person playing MLK is just silly. I can only assume you were joking.

Breaking news:

I'm playing the new Black Panther! And I'm not even black nor born in Africa!

... Huh? What do you mean Loeb already did this?

Re: Clash of the Titans Remake

Langsta is such a bigot.

Is your hero Eric Cartman too?

Here's my thing about Sam Worthington----when legendary filmmakers cast/endorse you...you tend to hold a validity.

Look at Shia. From Even Stevens to being backed Steven Speilberg.

Um, Shia LaBeouf is the worst actors I've ever seen.

And we're talking about Captain ****ing AMERICA here. The same guy who punched Nazis on comic book covers sixty years ago. I'd rather have Will Smith play Cap than Sam Worthington. At least Will Smith is American. I have nothing against people who aren't American, but really, if there are two things someone needs to play Captain America in a movie, it's a) acting skills, and b) being born in ****ing America.

When Rocky IV came out, Dolph Lundgren looked a lot like Captain America. Moreso than Sam Worthington does now. And would you have wanted him to play Cap? Casting a non-American as Captain America is like the most unpatriotic thing you could do aside from burning an American flag. FOR REALZ.

Back to Clash of the Titans.

Blahblahblah...

Wait....

what?

Casting a non-American is as unpatriotic as burning the flag...

Are you kidding? Please tell me you're joking. If not, you are officially one of the most naive people I've ever had the pleasure of talking to.

It's hard to tell with him isn't it?

I don't care where someone was born as long as they can pull off the part. I don't care if the actor playing the character is from Australia, as long as he does perform it with an Australian accent. Not like Costner who in Robin Hood completely gives up even trying an english accent
