Ultimate Comics X-Men (Spoilers)

Yeah, this feels like it will be the first of MANY characters returning from the dead.

That's it! I want Peter Parker back. If they're going to bring back anymore dead characters. It needs to be him. Now * SPOILER * is back. Please, Please Marvel. Bring back Peter Parker. Make him like the new Mister Fantastic or Mr. Web (male version of Madam Web).

What? USM is fine without him.

This book, unfortunately, just isn't good at all. The character changes are dumb and I just don't care about anyone in the book. I don't even care that Xavier is back. The only thing even remotely interesting is the possibility of a crossover with Ultimates.

I think I might need to re-drop this.

I lasted three issues. I don't care about Nick Spencer outside of Morning Glories.

This arc has been all over the place and not made much sense with an unneeded cliffhanger that won't be gotten to for some time. It's been a bad choice of story to restart the series with.

I'm so glad I didn't pick it up again.

Yeah, that's what it is. It's not like it's horrible writing a la Ultimates 3 or Ultimatum. Or Ultimate Power. Or Ultimate Iron Man. You get the idea.

It's just confusing to the point that it's not interesting enough to try and figure out. I'm not sorry I gave it a shot unlike the ones I just listed.

I wasn't saying Peter need to be back in the Ultimate Spider-Man book, just back alive. I think Miles is a fine character and will one day be as good or better then Peter Parker was in this universe. I was thinking maybe restart the UFF and have Pete replace Reed. Or in the back of the last issue of Ultimate Comics Spider-Man. A fan suggested to have him come back and change his identity, since his death was so public. And have him become Ben Reilly or Ben Fitzpatrick since that's was Ultimate Aunt May's maiden name in the 1610 universe. And then work his way into becoming this world's Scarlet Spider.

I just caught up with that last 3 issues and I have to agree with everyone else that it is not that intriguing. Especially the suprise reveal at the end of #6... I will admit I liked the idea of Stryker being a mutant and negating/supressing the mutant gene because the gene is technologically engineered.

Then I got thinking. I don't think Xavier is alive. I think it is a new villain manipulating characters into doing his/her bidding to further their own goals. Quicksilver is the only one who can see Wanda as far as we know and following "her" orders. Rouge is doing the same with "Xavier". So maybe this will all lead to the new big bad that Spencer hinted at when this series was announced

You may have something there. Mystique is still alive and working with the Brotherhood. And Quicksilver ran out of the White House faster that he ever has. This could very well be part of his plot to get the X-Men into his fold. Without Jean to read his mind. He could have easily trick Rogue into thinking Xavier is still alive.

Okay, I'm even more convinced of my theory now.

Magneto is back, with both arms and his head intact.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think it's a shape shifter or someone with the power to make people see what this person wants them to see.

Spoilers aren't needed for a spoiler thread.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure that it definitely isn't Xavier and Magneto that these guys are seeing. It'll be someone (or two) playing Angel and Devil, which fits into the whole theme going on right now. Regardless, the book isn't very interesting and it's a real shame because X-Men is my favorite part of the Marvel Universe. After BKV, it lost all the excitement and well-written stories.

There's interesting plots and all, but without the proper execution it just seems to fall moot at this point. :(

I (think I) know it's not Xavier and Magneto. We were told that all deaths from Ultimatum would stick. But then we see Scarlet Witch and Multiple Man. I just want Marvel to make up their mind. Either negate Loeb or deal with the consequences. Other than that, good issue. I'm curious why Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are both back to wearing their Ultimate Costumes.

Brian Wood takes over the series starting in June.

On one hand I'm glad because Nick Spencer wasn't really doing it for me, but on the other hand the current team is so lame I don't think it matters who writes it.

Issue #10 spoilers...

Colossus kills a guy with his bare hands in issue 10. My memory is blissfully short with this book and I have no idea why I'm reading it...but has there been anything in the past to suggest he would kill someone?
