The Cho one is kind of...meh. I don't like those words all around it.

The Quesada one is excellent. The Allred one is great too.

Re: Marvel to Publish Miracleman!

All three are great! Quesada is breathtaking, Allred is rad, and Cho is on point as always.

I really like the colouring on Joe Q's. It reminds me of some of the covers from Ultimate Spider-Man around 120ish. I wonder if it's the same colourist.

Justin Ponsor, apparently.

Re: Marvel to Publish Miracleman!

I just bought the 1:200 Cassaday variant of #1. It was impossible to find before Marvel released all their backstock of variants. It was also insanely expensive, but now you can get it for around $6-8. Maybe even less.

I saw that Amazon has the Gaiman/Buckingham Book 1 hardcover priced at 19.99 - this is great news. The Moore hardcovers were an absolutely ridiculous 39.99.

I wonder if that's in response to disappointing sales on the hardcovers for Moore's run...? Maybe they're trying to appeal to a larger audience with cheaper price?

That's not unreasonable to think, but if that were the case I would think they would make the floppies a little more attractive price-wise as well.

They're both the same price and on sale. Originally they're $29.99

Both what? The Moore hardcovers are $39.99 cover price. Golden Age is $29.99.

I was looking at only volume one of both. Volume 2 of Moore is $34.99 and volume 3 is $39.99. You'd be better to wait for an omnibus, assuming they don't have that be overpriced as well.

I'm sure it will be. I would not be the least bit surprised to see that at the $125 price point even though it's only 17 issues.

I'll pick it up eventually. I have all of the hardcovers so far and one of the Red King Syndrome variants.

Just checked Marvel's listings for the upcoming issues. Silver Age #1 (#23) came out in April, Silver Age #2 (#24) comes out in September, and Silver Age #3 (the much anticipated and long awaited #25) isn't scheduled until January, 2017...

I'm a bit worried. Hope the delays don't mean a repeat of what happened back in the early '90's (ie, we never see it released).

I think Neil Gaiman is probably a pretty busy guy and the poor sales numbers probably aren't inciting him to jump right into this.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in any of Marvel's meetings about this title. It has to be frustrating, to have spent the money they reportedly did, then to do almost everything right with re-releasing it, and for sales to be as bad as they were. I wonder if the more recent relays are to give them time to rethink their strategy around this book.

I think it does have more to do with Gaiman's busy schedule, but who knows? That said, I would be very surprised if Silver Age #3 (#25) isn't a big seller given the 25 year wait for it. Then again... who knows?

So... still no news on the Silver Age reprints... apparently there is yet MORE legal hurdles to overcome, according to Gaiman:

I've been asked about it a lot on Twitter, and have said the same thing, then and now: Miracleman has its own set of legal oddnesses. We thought they were all dealt with and tidied away, and then some contractual things came up that have had to be dealt with. They took us all by surprise. Lawyers have been beavering away for the last six months to get things sorted. As soon as they are, we can resume.

So, it seems it's a legal issue, not anything to do with Gaiman or Buckingham being too busy.

One has to wonder if we ever will see the series completed. It's reached a point of unmatched ridiculousness with the legal problems and delays.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about that. I thought they were just being lazy.

Hard to imagine what this could be. The rights issues seem to have been cleared up.

And I don't think Buckingham is doing anything right now, is he? Didn't he basically leave Fables for this?

Pretty much.

I have no clue what it could be either, but given the insanely complicated legal history of the title its not surprising something else popped up.

I blame low sales. Marvel went in expecting to be #1 every month and they overpriced the crap out of it causing it to tank.
