seems that war in the north starts earlier, then BoME II starts later, tho IDK do they end at the same time? @ScottishRyzo
Yeah the canon ones I'll do when I come back to this for Rohirrim in a week or two because god help me I'm sick of the sight of it just now aha.so the games you took as canon are:
- The Third Age
- The Battle for Middle-Earth II
- The Rise of the Witch-King
- Conquest
Unknown:
- The Battle for Middle-Earth
- Tactics
- Rise of War
Non-Canon
- The Two Towers
- The Return of the King
- Online
It's that right? Cos If you want I can do the simplified order for you, so when you finish the detailed timeline, you have just to copy it.
Maybe, I'm hoping when I go through it I'll be relieved and they can at least have levels that just coincide with each other during the same battle or something. The fact that war in the north uses so many alternate names for people and places in its second half might be a blessing letting me place those segments elsewhere if the first half doesn't contradict battle and just use that ones actual lore based eventsis there a possibility of both being canon?
so for the WitN vs. BoME II we're taking Battle or War as the higher tier for canonicity if there are contradictions?Yeah the canon ones I'll do when I come back to this for Rohirrim in a week or two because god help me I'm sick of the sight of it just now aha.
I'll vet the unknowns more at the same time and at least put the what if segments in an honourable mention or something, idk, I'll figure it out. I haven't decided if I want to mark things like "Amazon canon" or Jackson verse or just have that separate from this "Aligned" timeline
Online is probably not canon but it looks like it has a lot of lore to it and I don't want to dismiss it out of hand so I'll probably check that later too

Yeah war starts as the hobbits are heading to Bree but clearly some time is going on because Sauron has fallen by the time of the last mission. It just seems to jump ahead a lot between segments after the council of elrond. It's clearly inspired by the the siege of erebor at the end but it uses its own dwarven city and stuff like thatseems that war in the north starts earlier, then BoME II starts later, tho IDK do they end at the same time? @ScottishRyzo

updated with the colors. Now i'll device a way to not have all the game set during the trilogy be played after the trilogy.@ScottishRyzo What do you think of this simplified Order? (of what you got in the timeline so far)

Honestly I don't know about shorts, you mean like the fan made stuff?in the meantime, didn't someone in the timeline hub thread talked about the shorts? Are they canon?
Act IV is the shadow war chapter. I tell you that cos the Blade of Galadriel DLC happens some week or day later than the main story when Act IV is decades long.Act IV of shadow of war is just ending cinematics isn't it?
one guy in the timeline thread said this:Honestly I don't know about shorts, you mean like the fan made stuff?
Then I'll add it to the vetting list with the games for when I watch/play through this for Rohirrim once I'm done with the new indy or somethingone guy in the timeline thread said this:
"Middle-earth: Shadow of War - Friend or Foe
The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War in real life
The Lord of the Rings: Orc vs. Girl
The Lord of the Rings: Mordor vs. Gondor
the first one's (with TLOTR as begining of the title) ending, which is set in our world, should be completely cut out from the timeline and they should have edited it in after a clear pause like they did with the sequels (yup a trilogy of short films) they're set sometime after Fellowship and before Return (they are official and altho no WB or New Line logo is visible they were involved just like New Line is involved with The Rings of Power) and the SoW short is set before the game."
IDK if what he said it's true cos i never watched these shorts.
It's definitely more book based but I don't think it was a coincidence it vame about when they started making noise for hunt for gollum. Doesn't contradict anything so I left it. I'll add return to Moria to my list to check outNot sure about the Gollum Game. Seems more based on the book-universe rather than the Movie Universe. Another game based more on the book universe, Return to Moria, could potentially fit, it even has John Rys-Davies as Gimli. I personally wouldn't add either of them, but still wanted to throw that in here.
Oh, and I personally would not add the three Rise to War shorts, I totally with @Zeitschiene 's reasoning in the Timeline Hub
Also Gollum is not canon

oh it did come out? How was it? Quality speaking.I've seen War of the Rohirrim yesterday, the passage of time is really hard to track
Am curios how you're going to fit the Helm Hammerhand flashback from Shadow of War to this movie
I really liked it. The pacing was a bit too fast in the beginning, but the second and third act were really good (though there were 2-3 moments that I found unnecessary, really light spoilers below)oh it did come out? How was it? Quality speaking.

I did have a look into the other games but there was either some detail explicitly contradicting the movies or straight up alternative versions of scenes from the movieSo now It misses the Battle for middle-earth II, Conquest and the third age, right?
