Why is the Skywalker Saga stuff and other sequel eras games in the 20s-80s instead of being in the 1950s-2010s?

I personally think that has been for gameplay purpose, in the Ghostbusters 2016 story pack in one cutscenes the original team pops up, even tho they shouldn't be there since Ghostbusters 2016 and 1984 are different universes officially, so I don't take the portal separations as litteral.
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were separate portals??? I thought there was only Lord of the Rings. I do agree with you on the figurative over literal portal separations though

Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter are two separate "dimensions" despite being the same universe, only at different times. As are Teen Titans, DC, Power Puff Girls, Scooby-Doo!, etc. If that isn't sound enough for you, the LEGO Batman Movie is the same universe as the LEGO Movie, yet they're two separate "dimensions". The bonus levels in the Gold Brick/Real World dimension imply that they are just LEGO minifigures, being brought to life inside the game, the same as in the LEGO Movie (only with imagination - but even then LEGO minifigures still had some level of consciousness), so it could just be different LEGO IPs as different "dimensions" and not literal universes.
It contradicts the theory because it's not a gameplay mechanic, like with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It's part of the story.
