That's now how Marvel Comics did the timeline so idk. I'd just assume something off screen happened that we don't know aboutView attachment 4708
In the Planet of the Apes tv series, this picture appears. Wouldn't it also fit better in a timeline that doesn't include the reboots (3-5)? Humanity goes on for longer in that reality.
Well I mean, they're both official obviouslyAThe added text in the Comic Con timeline appears to be based on a ScreenRant article from 2019: https://web.archive.org/web/2019091...ant.com/planet-apes-movie-timeline-explained/

Marvel seemed to take it in that direction on their personal official timeline. That's now how Marvel Comics did the timeline so idk. I'd just assume something off screen happened that we don't know about
The Comic Con one also flips the Original Timeline and Alternate Timeline colour codes, which doesn't make much sense.Well I mean, they're both official obviously
I think there's a few alternate timelines at play. Maybe that poster was a rush job for a Comic Con prop exhibit and not 100% reliable.Yeah, that confuses the crap out of me. They obviously meant it the other way around though.
That was definitely a mistakeThe Comic Con one also flips the Original Timeline and Alternate Timeline colour codes, which doesn't make much sense.
Aren't the Reboots a pretty easy timeline though?I'm interested in how many timelines there are for the original films counting expanded universe material. I know that it's a closed loop, but I'm thinking about if certain comics don't fit with others. Are all the crossovers, like King Kong, Star Trek and Fantastic Four, able to fit with the other non-crossover comics? That's what I'm interested in.
Not too fussed about the reboots though. Sorry.![]()
I could see the reboots being canon in many ways beyond as a direct prequel because of that. It's not as interesting but it has less continuity errors.I think there's a few alternate timelines at play. Maybe that poster was a rush job for a Comic Con prop exhibit and not 100% reliable.
Yeah. I just don't like them as much, fantastic as they are.Aren't the Reboots a pretty easy timeline though?
According to a somewhat official timeline, the remake is set after War for the Planet of the Apes... so, uh, none of the humans on the live call at the start wanted to tell him that they're one of the few remaining humans on the planet? And then he time travels to after the Earth exploded? So, I guess that implies a multiverse rather than a rewriting timeline (as is suggested by Marvel's Earth number)? Then the ending is a parallel timeline separate from the rest of the film created by the villain.Where does the 2001 movie fit in
And the comics/video games? What of those? For now, if I had to combine everything, I'd do it like this.

Isn't the planet in 2001 an alien planet not Earth? So the earth being destroyed then doesn't matter. Also the Comic Con timeline retcons the film to be 2011 not 2091 or whatever so it fits before the reboot moviesAccording to a somewhat official timeline, the remake is set after War for the Planet of the Apes... so, uh, none of the humans on the live call at the start wanted to tell him that they're one of the few remaining humans on the planet? There's too many to really include in a quick rundown like that. It's insane how many comics there are. If you want to see how ridiculous some of the titles in this franchise is there's a Marvel comic story called Kingdom on an Island of the ApesAnd the comics/video games? What of those?
1. Yes, but all scenes set in that future are set in 5021.Isn't the planet in 2001 an alien planet not Earth? So the earth being destroyed then doesn't matter. Also the Comic Con timeline retcons the film to be 2011 not 2091 or whatever so it fits before the reboot movies
1. Yeah? The rest of the universe still exists1. Yes, but all scenes set in that future are set in 5021.
2. The Comic-Con timeline places the start in 2029 and the alternate timeline ending in 2011, from mu understanding.
