My Bloody Valentine/Silent Night, Deadly Night - Timeline

Help Support The Comic Board:

Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025) apparently doesn't feature anyone from the original film except a new version of Billy Chapman, so you could argue that he's an unrelated individual (possibly from the same family). I recall they said that the supernatural additions to the comic book were to connect with the new film, so I guess it's all consistent.

So... pretty clean timeline, surprisingly. Also, 4 and 5 are actually related to one another. The Ricky in those films ARE the same character... Movie Timelines just got it completely wrong.

SNDN2025 works so good with the universe and what it adds. This is weirdly consistent universe, and I LOVE it! (I may dislike Better Watch Out! and not being a huge fan of Silent Night but still XD)

But doesn't the Ricky in SNDN4 die at the end or something?
He gets stabbed and then a few big bugs crawl on him. He appears in the next film, played by the same actor. Kim Levitt and Lonnie from Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation appear in Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker, same actors with the same names and even a slight reference made to the previous film's events.

I actually feel like it's more likely that Ricky would inexplicably survive than they got the same actor to play a character with the same name but is actually a new character. It feels too specific.

We never see him die. He gets stabbed in the chest, then the knife is dragged up across him, and then he falls over... still technically alive. Remember that the other Ricky survived getting the top of his head blown off.

I see.

The Miner
1961 - Harry Warden (My Bloody Valentine)
1981 - Axel Palmer (My Bloody Valentine/SNDN vs. VBM #1)
1999 - Harry Warden (My Bloody Valentine 3D)
2009 - Tom Hanniger (My Bloody Valentine 3D)
2015 - Charles Fuller (Valentine Bluffs Massacre #1-4)
2025 - Alyssa (Valentine Bluffs Massacre: Remembrance)

Santa Claus
196? - Ronald Jones Sr. (Silent Night)
1971 - Oscar Murphy (SNDN (1984)/SNDN: Killer Santa #1)
1984 - Billy Chapman (SNDN (1984)/SNDN vs. VBM #1/SNDN #1-4)
1988 - Ricky Chapman (SNDN 2/SNDN 3)
1991 - Pino Petto (SNDN 5)
2006 - Charlie (SNDN (2025))
2013 - Ronald Jones Jr. (Silent Night, SNDN (2025))
2015 - Billy Chapman (SNDN (2025))
2025 - Pamela Sims (SNDN (2025))

My Bloody Valentine 3D is funny because it literally swaps the roles of Axel and Tom just to throw off fans of the original.

The only film without a Santa in it is Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation, I guess.

Totally random thought, but All Hallows' Eve/Terrifier/Bupkis would fit very nicely in this universe, what with the whole holiday settings (Valentine's Day, Halloween, Christmas), Santa Claus outfit and both being distributed by Cineverse. Terrifier 3 is basically a Silent Night, Deadly Night film.

That'll never happen, though. I just hope the new film gets some sequels.

The killer from Silent Night (2012) is in Silent Night, Deadly Night (2025). It's one of the two main villains. Well, either the same character or a new character played by the same actor who has the same Santa mask... but, uh, come on. It's better if it's the same and it makes more sense.

Not only do we get a new Campbell (this time a heroic character), we get a returning character from the previous. Plus, it fits in well with the supernatural elements from the comic sequel to '84.

I just hope that the new novel doesn't destroy Ricky Campbell's story because, so far, it's weirdly consistent.
