I think people throw it in the same thing because there's a scene where you're navigating a vent and getting directions to avoid Big Chap, similar to Dallas' circumstances. However, I don't really see it as the same scene personally.

I imagine that playing as Parker in Crew Expendable is the canon version based on the deleted sequence. It justs means there's a short gap. I think it fits well.

Sounds like Hans was the writer connecting this to the main Alien timeline (33:50), Blade Runner and Soldier (44:30). Leon gets a bit confused when asked about alternate continuities then guesses that Aliens: What If...? is outside the main continuity (56:08). I wish we got to hear from Hans rather than these writers since he added the more obscure connections to Alien/Blade Runner/Soldier and the linking material to Alien³'s events (Burke sending Ripley to Fury 161, Xeno on Fury 161).

Someone described the reference to Outland from the RPG in more details. Apparently Colonial Marshals oftentimes keep prisoners in zero-g cells while wearing pressure suits... yeah okay, that's a very strong and intentional link. I see why it's in the unofficial canon tier for the RPG's system.

Kinda annoys me how Predator: Concrete Jungle is labelled an "Alternate Continuity" and "What If...?" scenario on TV Tropes, solely for not having any connections to the films. Like no shit there wouldn't be any connections, the game is meant to be a standalone story, after all. By that logic, should the Dark Horse comics be considered non-canon just because most are standalone stories? :/

Charles Bishop Weyland owned Weyland Industries while Peter Weyland owned Weyland Corp. It is likely that Peter Weyland absorbed Weyland Industries' assets in 2012 when he founded Weyland Corp.
Peter likely knew of his relative's lung cancer, hence why he developed a synthetic trachea a few days before the start of AVP. Unfortunately, Charles' fixation on the antarctica expedition led to his downfall, just like it would for the younger Weyland in 2093 poetically. Both dying men sought out alien discoveries to either create a lasting legacy or extend their own life. Hm, I don't think it worked out well for Michael Bishop either.
