In Carbon Rites, the USM placed humans and synthetics together in simulations based on locations from previously documented extraterrestrial encounters such as LV-223 from the film Prometheus, the South China Sea from the novel Predator: South China Sea, DS 949 from the comic Aliens: Berserker, and Sevastopol from the video game Alien: Isolation.

Aliens: Berserker is tied to the classic AVP storyline. It's all connected.

Well, I guess the individual Moments of Extraction shorts could be placed in the timeline instead of just the full compilation now that I think about it, since they don't have the beginning and end set in 2024 and would work well to be watched in 2010 on the viewing order.

Makes sense on the placement. The time difference on Predators still bothers me. I'm not sure I see the need to make it further in the timeline but it's official now so...lol

Well, Marvel's Predator comics show that they freeze prey for a number of years to be part of the hunt on the Game Preserve Planet. Since those comics place Predators in 2010 and Hunting Grounds places the film in 2024, I think them being taken in 2010 and being unfrozen in 2024 makes relative sense.
 
It stretches out the suggested time gap between Daniels waking up and checking out the med-bay, but the two Alien: Covenant shorts that are usually discounted can actually sorta fit into the film? Well, I tried it. Seemed logical to me.
 
They're not great fits, I'll admit. The "x ALQ" short suggests that a Praetomorph is on-board on December 5th, even showing a black shadow that looks like one. She Won't Go Quietly suggests that Daniels didn't immediately go to the med-bay to check on the chestbusted corpse and instead had a brief skirmish with the creature. However, if you're creative enough, it does actually kind of work with the film. Besides, I think the footage in some of these were deleted scenes that were turned into short films so it's not like it wasn't supposed to work.

The book also features a humorous cameo by
Predator star Arnold Schwarzenegger as himself, during a brief sequence where Mary dreams that she is on the beach in Los Angeles and sees him taking part in a publicity outing as part of his role as Governor of California.

Just for fun since we are talking about tie ins to the original Predator movies...

Predator: Eyes of the Demon - Aftermath -- 9/1987, Dutch is interrogated by Keyes and Gerber then runs off to fight a Predator in North Carolina, records a tape afterwards

Predator: If It Bleeds - Drug War -- 25 years after Predator 2 (2022), Harrigan and Garber are in Rio and a Bad Blood Predator is causing trouble

and the Young Blood from AVP: Aliens vs. Predators: Ultimate Prey (Story 8, "First Hunt") is the son of the Bad Blood from Drug War. All three stories are written / co-written by Bryan Thomas Schmidt.

The Dark Horse Alien/AVP comics are a lot more tightly linked than most are aware of, I feel.

I think the only thing is that there's scenes with Weyland-Yutani executives on Earth or a similar colony in Alien: Annual, set in 2193... literally the middle of a Xenomorph Earth Infestation. It can work of course. It's only a few pages, we don't know the progress of the Earth War, and we don't know if they're off-world. I believe one of the Marvel comics lightly touched on Royal Jelly/Xeno-Zip anyway, it's not like they're ignoring old lore. I'd even say that the Aftermath comic works perfectly with Colonial Marines' depiction of Hadley's Hope post-Aliens, since it's still somewhat intact.

I'd kinda like to see all the post-Aliens depictions of the Derelict actually. That could be fun in a messy way.

I do love that they aren't ignoring the old lore and that it can mix. As for that annual, I've not read the Marvel Aliens run yet but you could always assume the Weyland-Yutani execs are hold up in one of the last safe locations. We know Weyland-Yutani would have the resources to keep themselves safe.

Hm, having John Schaefer in the Predator run was a welcome surprise.

Just a random thought, but I wonder if the original Earth War trilogy could work as a sequel to Alien 3: The Original Screenplay. Never thought about it before, but all the right characters are there for it.

You know, I actually think that the 1718 comic can fit with Prey in a few ways.

1. Raphael Adolini survived his gunshot wound in 1718 and Greyback gave him his pistol. Bennett Taylor (Adolini's actor) read the 1718 comic in preparation for his role and added nods such as the "take it" line but it got cut. Perhaps he became a Trapper after he was betrayed by his fellow pirates and became more timid after his first encounter with a Yautja.

2. The guy in Prey wasn't Raphael Adolini at all, just a separate individual who managed to obtain the pistol from Greyback off-screen through unknown means.

3. The exact same situation as the second option but the character in Prey coincidentally has the same name. He came across a pistol with his name on it and took it for himself.

Personally, I think the first is the most believable and consistent with the intent behind the film. I know that if Dark Horse was making comics, they probably would have created a comic set between events that explains the continuity errors like they did with Alien³ and Alien: Resurrection in regards to their comic book continuity.
