Alien vs. Predator - Timeline

Help Support The Comic Board:

Honestly, we DON'T actually know when the Present Day segments take place. For all we know, they could be set centuries after Predator 2, so I'm not sure if placing the Present Day segments for KoK before the first movie would be a good thing.

At the most, I feel like someone should ask the director about this, since otherwise, it's gonna be a lingering question.
True, but I still feel it works better as before Predator 2 for now. If we get more information then that changes.

Timeline-wise, we can place it between Torres' sequence from Predator: Killer of Killers and the Tarzan vs Predator comics, since we don't know what year specifically the comic will take place in.

And speaking of Killer of Killers, noticed this error.
1941
????
Predator: Killer of Killers
(0:41:11 - 0:43:24)

1942
????
Predator: Killer of Killers
(0:43:23 - 1:02:19)

Also seeing comments from the Alien Earth SDCC Panel claiming there they are doing their own thing and ignoring Prometheus and Covenant. Hopefully it's just not referencing them and not outright contradicting them.

yes same, it seems more like they're not going to be referring to the david created xenomorph variant in this, which honestly lines up with canon in my view better anyway

also has anyone been able to play the extended ending to killer of killers yet?

Again, I'm pretty sure other media has since retconned that by stating that David was merely recreating the Engineer's experiments, and the ones he created weren't the TRUE Xenomorphs.
True. I think the novelization might have? I'm very much behind on reading the new Alien novels and comics.

hmmm, Dutch looks young. I'm guessing Predator Hunting Grounds and related books might be no longer canon
this is from the 04/2025 dutch tape from hunting grounds:

My life shouldn't be possible, but the very thing I hunt, that hunts me, is what's keeping me alive. As we began to understand the Predator's technology, we started to use it. A fight with a Predator female went bad and I was critically wounded. Dying, I agreed to experimentation. Using their medical technology was painful at first, but it worked. It worked so well that the cells in my body stopped aging. Pushing eighty now, I feel like a man fighting in his 40's. It's not the only experiment that I've been a part of. I'm deadlier now than I was in Val Verde.

so i feel like
killer of killers should be in 2025 or later

Yeah, that could work and they did use that to prolong his life. I don't think we ever had a visual to see how old he looks so it's doable. It'll all come down to what we get when he's unthawed. If he says the Jungle Hunter fight was recent it's an issue but let's hope they try to keep some of the continuity.

Also @Pro Bot , you did see the stuff earlier that needs adding, right? Specifically...
  • Updating the timeline for Predator: Killer of Killers to account for the extended cut
  • Moving Predator: Badlands to 2178
  • Adding ALIEN VS. CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 to #4 to the timeline/viewing order (preferably between 1941 to 1944 [at least until the miniseries begins and gives us clues to narrow down the timeline], going off of Steve's history as Cap in Earth-616)

It's not over yet. Hulu is debuting a new extended cut of Predator: Killer of Killers tonight, bringing with it the long-awaited return of two major Predator franchise characters.

At San Diego Comic-Con today, Prey filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg announced that the new cut of the animated anthology will begin streaming tonight, at 7 pm PST, and features an epilogue scene featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch character from the original 1987 movie, as well as Danny Glover's Lieutenant Mike Harrigan from Predator 2.
