Thought I'd make a thread for the FMA manga, both because I can't find the original thread and because both get really, really different.

I love the new Pride, and Armstrong's sister.

I've read some synopsis of the story, I personally like the Anime better, mainly for the explanations behind alchemy, it's much more condense and scientific than the manga

Actually alchemy works essentially the same in both. The creation of Homonculi is vastly different though.

I didn't explain it right, I meant things behind the scenes of the physics. Like how homunculus are created, the truth behind Honiheim, the source of alchemy, the over all plot, etc. It just doesn't work as well for me as the anime did.

Oh, ok.

I felt the opposite. The thing with the two worlds feeding into each other seemed forced to me, so I was glad the manga didn't explore that. And the politics and hidden agendas of the manga's upcoming war hooked me immediately.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I'm way behind on the manga, but I'd just like to note a few things.

I hate it when FMA is mentioned in the same breath as other shounen series like Bleach or Naruto, because it fixes everything they do wrong. Terrible female characters? Not here. I especially love that Winry is just as talented as Ed and Al, but in an entirely different field. An illogical or completely unexplored political world? Nope, it's fully developed and intriguing. Attempting to up the ante with boring, meaningless powerups and interminable fights? Nope, here they twist things up with SCIENCE! and new techniques and emotional turmoil. Superbeings so powerful that they're gods compared to civilians? Very rarely and it's actually treated that way and properly explored.

Fullmetal Alchemist rules.

Kimblee appears to have met an inglorious end and Envy's big mouth has gotten him into a spot I sure don't envy. Heh.

Nice. What Armstrong did to Sloth is pretty brutal, and Yoki of all people saved the day against Pride. Also, I should mention that I'm glad that the chimeras aren't red shirt cannon fodder.

The impersonation between Roy and Riza was great. It was nigh impossible to tell who was Envy until the end.

And it looks like they're turning Bradley into a martyr. As he's almost certainly alive (this is a shounen manga, after all...there's no way one of the best villains in the series got killed by a train bomb) this could come back to bite them. Then again, seeing as this looks to be wrapping up...
