Sterns was found by Ross' team in Harlem after Hulk vs Abomination, used as a scapegoat for it, and locked in Camp Echo One. There's no mention of Natasha apprehending him in the Fury's Big Week comic, him being in SHIELD custody, or any mention of being transferred from SHIELD to Ross
don't lose hope, it still could be a possibility!

I'd say it's not a contradiction as much as not mentioning extra details in regards to transport, supplementary specifics, etc.

In BNW, Bucky is campaigning to be a congressman in the movie, in April 2027. In May 2027, during Thunderbolts*, he is already in office, right?

we dont specifically know when thunderbolts will happen but yea i did think about this

yea, in my mind
~9 months pass from june 2010 when shield gets him before ross gets custody of him (maybe in exchange for folding and letting shield use banner instead of blonsky on the avengers initiative?) and then 16 years ross has him in custody, from ~march 2011 to april 2027

i definitely agree i just wonder how it will fit with bnw, maybe he was a special congressional election and he's elected but not taken the office and will between the two movies?
The congressional election and presidential election occur together, maybe in the MCU they are separate? The presidential election was November 2026, That's why Bucky is campaigning in April 2027, to be elected at late-April.

We have to create headcanons, until we have official answers, if we get some day.

But I think will be in May 2027, because of gala, celebrating 15th anniversary of Battle of NY.
We don't know for certain if the gala in Thunderbolts is celebrating the anniversary. I'd say we wait and see what Thunderbolts says before worrying about it.

I know, but in the trailer the gala party shows banner saying ''honoring the heroes of battle of NY'', that's why the theory of May 2027's timeline placement, because battle of NY was in May 2012, but we have to wait to have official answer.

BNW Timeline clue - April 16, 2027
Yep, couldn't make out the day in the theater but nice that we have something so concrete.

Yeah, I know about all this, but it doesn't necessarily have to be on the anniversary. If it is BNW and Thunderbolts would essentially be back to back.

Like you said, we have to wait when Thunderbolts came out or before the release to know the timeline, but it definitely is in 2027.
Oh, I agree it's 100% 2027. I just think there's a chance it could be later in the year. I do like the idea of it happening around the anniversary, but that places it pretty close to BNW regarding Bucky's position. Speaking of Bucky, Sam mentions he's 110 years old (born in 1917) so once again fitting with 2027.

Did the blip mess with the calendar? Because April 16th 2027 is not on a Thursday per the invite lol.

(Not arguing placement - just wondering how hard it is for Marvel to verify what day of the week it is)
That's honestly hilarious to me omg

I'm willing to overlook it since it's been a while we've had a movie get this detailed on its placement. I was impressed enough when it had a "5 Months Later" card after the election or Ross's mention of it almost being 100 days in his presidency, but then we got a hard date including the day on top of it. Very nice.

I very much appreciate that as well

About Bucky's political position, maybe his congress election is in late-April, after BNW's main events, then in Thunderbolts, in early May, next to 15th anniversary of battle of NY, in May 4th, he is just a newly elected congressman. Could work? It just a theory

It could. Hopefully Thunderbolts makes it clear.

But I could be wrong, Bucky's hair in Thunderbolts* is more longer than he has in BNW, so could be past May.

How many days BNW events have long, you think?, a week maybe?
Something like that. I do feel there's a jump at the end with
the White House rebuild and Ross and Sterns in The Raft

That was one of the things that had me thinking it was later, but they may not care.
