Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline (Part 3)

It seems the divergent point was Yondu taking Peter to Ego, so his abduction should be the same time (Peter's even wearing the same clothes). I feel like with What-If they get lazy with making sure things fit and just use it being an alternate universe as an excuse, even when it doesn't always make sense.
exactly this, s01e01, 03, 04, 08, 09 and now s02e01, 02, 03, 04, 07 and 08 have had continuity issues that are unaffected by the supposed change from the main timeline which is why i liken this show more to elseworlds than what if

What issues?
S01E01: red skull doesnt find the tesseract until after peggy undergoes the experiment and becomes captain carter, in the main timeline red skull finds the tesseract in march 1942, over a year before steve undergoes the experiment himself

S01E03: hanks motivation for killing the avengers is the death of hope working for shield two years prior to furys big week, meaning the point of difference cant be tony dying in the donut shop

S01E04: not so much an "issue" but how can christines death be an absolute point if it doesnt occur in the main timeline?

S01E08: theres no way for thanos to have collected the remaining five stones by 2015, and if he did it had nothing to do with ultrons success on earth (im willing to explain this away by saying it had been 3 years and by 2018 thanos was on the infinity conquest but that causes more issues later in the episode); if we assume the episode is in 2015 then ego would have already been killed, and if we use the 2018 explanation then asgard would have already been destroyed as well

S01E09: in the universe where uatu leaves the black widow variant loki shouldnt have his staff as he ruled earth before having met thanos to get it from

S02E01: yon-rogg, korg, miek, and drax all being on xandar in 2014 aren't necessarily accurate, yon-rogg is a possibility as we dont know anything about his fate since june 1995 in the main timeline

S02E02: if the episode takes place in june 1988 and quill was abducted 6 months prior that would make it december 1979, which would have been earlier than the main timeline; also hank doesnt leave shield until 1989 in the main timeline while here he had by june 1988

S02E03: the other avengers shouldnt yet know about clints life outside of being an avenger

S02E04: tony has the armor from iron man 3 that comes to him in individual pieces which he hadnt invented in the original avengers

S02E07: hela is banished to hel before the year 965 and wenwu doesnt find the ten rings until around 990-1000 in the main timeline, meaning he found the rings earlier here

S02E08: the appearance of the freak here suggests that things are slightly different in the universe where the characters come from, however even if everything except for the freaks appearance occurred exactly as in the main timeline hela and the destroyer would have been dead before 2018

just caught up with what if eps 6 & 7

6 may or may not lead into the finale episode because of a certain cameo at the end (Year is somewhere between 1493 - 1504)

Ep 7 is Somewhere between 575 BC and 400 AD (Closer to 400 AD but not sure by how much) due to hela being imprisoned in midgard instead of hell as the nexus event or it could be somewhere between 1000-1500 AD due to the ten rings not being discovered until around 1500. So really anywhere between 575 BC - 1521.

going to wait for the season to wrap up and see if rearranging the episodes to fit either the connective tissue between stories and to place the others in chronological order.

But Thor was born roughly around 965 AD, so the episode must take place prior to that, especially with the Frigga mention.

hela also said it was about a thousand years of fighting so that kind narrows it down but i was looking at the official timeline book for the distant past dates so ill have to check what the wiki says

btw I've mapped out the years where the main events from what if S01 and S02 so far take place in case we need it later but I have a feeling that the best viewing order for what if... at least as a whole is release order as i feel like we will be returning to these new branches in the season finale lol kinda like the loom from loki (e.g. many branches get turned into a single string/point aka the finale episode and then it starts over again for a new season)

WI S01E01 (1943-1944/1945)
WI S01E02 (2008)
WI S01E03 (2010 or 2011)

WI S02E04 (May 2012) ?

WI S01E04 (Early 2018)
WI S01E05 (May 2018)
WI S01E06 (2008 or 2009 or 2010)
WI S01E07 (2010 or 2011)
WI S01E08 (Mid-Late 2015)
WI S01E09 (Mid-Late 2015)
WI S02E05 (Between January - May 2014)
WI S02E07 (Somewhere between 575 BC - 1521)
WI S02E02 (1988)
WI S02E04 (May 2012)
WI S02E03 (Christmas Eve 2014)
WI S02E01 (2019)
WI S02E06 (Somewhere between 1493 - 1504)
WI S02E08 (1602)
WI S02E09 (Outside of Time and Space)

Also I very much enjoyed Episode 8 very refreshing concept and tbh was not expecting that twist at the end
thought it was gonna be purple hulk hogan from episode 3 but I pleasantly surprised.

Btw I've ordered season 2 story wise first so for example Episode 5 is first up after season 1 Because that's the last story we were left on at the end of season 1 and the weeks of time between eps 5 and 8 is where i put the red of the (so far) unrelated stories in chronological order.
