The light from the Hospital windows confuses me because it makes me think it's day to night to day. In reality, it's a set and they chose to put lighting behind the set. So it could be night still.

Nevermind, it literally cuts between day and night. That's annoying af.

It's vague honestly. Foggy and Matt (via flashbacks, to clarify) are discussing affording their own office in 18 months. It could be April 16 of...2013? But then again, Foggy gave away that money they were saving up for the new office.

But I'm still figuring out the timeline here cause of how long Fisk was visiting the gallery via those flashbacks. Paintings, from what I just looked up can be held in museums for over a year or more depending on success. If Fisk paying triple for the gallery visits meant anything, it stayed there for close to 2 years.

It could easily be 2013 or 2014 or even 2015. I don't know.
They made SURE that in the dialogue and onscreen dates we'd have zero clue, it seems like.

Ya remember the cop, Hoffman, in the original show's first season finale? Who they got the testimony to arrest Fisk?

He said this in that OG show:
"My partner and I were first approached by a man working for Wilson Fisk...18 months ago."

So yeah the flashbacks in this episode, as they stand without a clarified year, happened in April 2013.
April 2013 + 18 months = Fall 2014.

EDIT: Specifically April 20th (420!), 2013.
A FratSaturday. 4 days after that dude was said to be arrested (April 16th, via paperwork.)

The dreaded Bit/coin mentioned in the flashbacks (no year given yet, from what I can tell but haven't finished the episode yet).

That was invented in 2009. So that doesn't narrow anything down sadly. This is clearly right before the events of season 1 in these flashback scenes.
So the dude in the flashbacks that Foggy and Matt are defending is 29...but birthdate via ID paperwork is 4/13/(19)77

This ain't 2006. But that birthdate was blurry.

BUT WHAT WASN'T BLURRY: Arrest Date April 16

Now, no year given yet. This could be early 2014. I'm not sure yet, I'm still watching.

So good news is more evidence supports Fall 2014 instead of Early 2015 for S1 of OG Daredevil.

idc actually. it bothers me that they didn't recreate the set from S1. Gallery and Matt and Foggy office are totaly different
Matt and Foggy dont have their own place yet in this flashback. It's their old job.
As for the gallery, well, its 18 months beforehand. We can assume via the dialogue and gaps in timeframe that Fisk kept paying for the gallery visits and they got the extra funds to refurbish.

Their office in Landman and Zack was a litteral closet. In BA is not

Lawyers can change offices within 18 months btw.

Things like this aren't a reach when you consider context clues and how the real world operates.
yea, them getting shoved into a closet was probably just another thing on the pile making them lean towards leaving with the roxxon settlement being the straw that broke the camels back

i can only assume that fisk doesnt go inside the gallery yet, didnt he and vanessa not meet until episode 3 of the netflix show?
