Help Support The Comic Board:

Capcom is weird. Some series are the same Earth some are not. And none of them are canon to MVC I think.

Like for example, Street Fighter, Final Fight, Captain Commando, Rival Schools, Forgotten Worlds, Strider (as well as it's pseudo sequels made by other companies) and Muscle Bomber/Slam Masters are all the same universe, Darkstalkers might also be part of it, but it's kinda unclear

Mega Man, Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero, Mega Man ZX and Mega Man Legends are also the same universe although MVC seems to treat MMZ as its own separate universe in Zero's MVC 3 ending.

Devil May Cry is the same universe as Okami and Viewtiful Joe due to Kamiya considering all of his games to be one universe, which also includes games he made at other companies like Bayonetta and Wonderful 101.

There's probably more I'm forgetting but yeah
I think Resident Evil is its own universe, but this Marvel comic might be non-canon to it, since the Resident Evil continuity is a mess overall.

I'm not an RE fan yet but from what I can gather is that the story of the comic is based on notes for the backstory from the american devs and weren't overseen by the Japanese devs/Flagship like the canon expanded universe is looked over today. Although apparently the same elements show up in other prequel stuff like Resident Evil: The Book which was at one point canon so like.... I dunno maybe it's possible to fit in

Army of Darkness (2007) (Earth-818793)
Slasherverse

The synopsises for the upcoming What If issues dropped and this one... Confuses me
How could this comic even be happening if the ENTIRE multiverse was destroyed and there was a SINGULAR Battleworld built by the MAIN Doctor Doom? Is this happening in a different multiverse entirely or something? Were there more Battleworlds built by different Dooms on different edges of the multiverse? Am I overthinking this a bit too much??????
I would like to see these as well:

What If the Mutant X (Earth-1298) universe's heroes were not killed by the Goblin Queen? This was a universe where Fantastic Four never gained their powers but were a tech-based superhero team, Spider-Man had six arms and is seemingly the leader of a team of Spider-Man clones called the Uncanny Spider-Men, Doc Samson was the Hulk, Doctor Doom was a hero, Doctor Strange was the Man-Thing, Magneto lead the X-Men, Captain America was a mutant etc. I think it had a lot of spin-off potential, but all the heroes were wasted in the last few issues.

What If the Earth-838 Illuminati were not killed by Scarlet Witch?

... LITERALLY NOTHING IN THERE SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT THE COMICS BEING EARTH-616!!
It doesn't say anything outright, but it means they're classifying Freddy as 616 because the Appendix has a rule that all licensed (and creator-owned) comics are 616 unless something 100% confirms they don't fit. This is the reason why Indiana Jones will not get a reality number, by the way.

And where exactly is that rule? Or is it a "My Source is I made it the **** up!" thing?

I'm not saying this because I want Freddy Krueger and other external properties that have nothing to do with Marvel to be part of Earth-616. Firstly, I'm one of the Appendix contributors, and secondly, you can draw your own conclusions from the comments in some published profiles. If a profile about a licensed character doesn't provide reality designation, that means the property is in a gray area, a la "possibly 616."

"In the 1970s and 80s Marvel explicitly integrated many licensed characters into 616 - it's hard to deny Doc Savage exists within 616 when he's encountered the Human Torch and the Thing - but they didn't do so with Indy." http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix9/charliedunnij.html

I think Marvel has largely clamped down on licensed characters overtly integrating with 616 in recent decades, perhaps since The Meteor Man in 1993.

Okay, I wanna apologise for how I was last night. Some personal news hit me hard, and I wasn't in the best frame of mind, and I shouldn't have snapped at you. That's my ****-up, and I apologise for it. @Mike_Castle
