Since the old thread descended into chaos...

I'm not good at writing solid summaries and/or reviews, so this will probably be a jumble of random thoughts.

I went and saw this. It was good. Lots of twists that were seen coming, and then you find out you're wrong.

Tom Cruise was good. Everyone was good.

It starts near the end, with Ethan Hunt locked up and the enemy pointing a gun at his wife's head. After that, it goes back to the start and the movie is like one big Lost-esque flashback until we get to the point we started at. Then the real ending happens.

It's good. I recommend it. Even to E, and all you Cruise haters.

I saw it with a couple friends this afternoon.

Not only is it easily the best of the MI series, but one of the best action/fx movies I've seen in a very long time. It starts off with a bang and just never lets up.

For those of you who say "I'm not seeing this because I hate Tom Cruise": Shut up. Tom Cruise isn't in this movie, Ethan Hunt is. And Ethan Hunt is a badass. Hoffman is also terrific as the villain. And Ving is always good.

I give it a 9 out of 10. Casino Royale might as well just give up now, because there's no way it'll top this one. See it on the big screen.

P.S. The Superman Returns trailer is incredible in theatres. 50 times more impressive than the PC version.

No... The Cruise Missle is in the movie. And as much as I think Tom Cruise should be locked away between movies, I would totally pay to see him as a professional actor because he is always good.

To clarify, when I said I wasn't seeing this because of Tom Cruise, that wasn't the only reason. I've only seen bits and peices of the original one and none of the second, and the whole thing just looks boring. According to most critics its just two hours of rather "been there, done that" action with a lame, incoherent plot tacked on.

I'm seeing at least The Da Vinci Code and X3 before SR, so I'm sure I'll see the trailer with one of those (I've only been to a few movies since the teaser, but I've already seen that in the theaters three times).

It doesn't matter at all. The only connection this one has to the others is that Hunt and Luther(Ving Rhames) are friends and that Hunt is the best secret agent out there. You're up to speed.

and the whole thing just looks boring.

It isn't. At all.

Is that so?

Roger Ebert didn't like it and I usually agree with him. Besides, like I said it doesn't interest me at all.

Roger Ebert is an #^$hole. And I never listen to critics.

Anyways, I've always enjoyed the Mission Impossible movies. The trailer for this looked great, and wether or not I agree with what Tom Cruise says and does in real life, he's a great actor.

Just saw it......not bad. I'm not a huge fan of the MI films, but I still find them watchable. The first was great....the second was ok....this one was pretty good.

The plot did seem to be made up on the fly. But you could barely notice between all the amazing stunts. Which Tom did about 95%....you could really tell that was him hanging out the car door. Bonus points for him. Bad form on the wife thing. I don't buy the 23 year old girl is interested in 76 year old Tom Cruise.

All in all.....on of his decent films. While in no way was this The Last Samurai or Minority Report........at least it wasn't Vanilla Sky.

Your money wouldn't be wasted on a day show.

Good thoughts VVD. And if people turn this into another "Tom Cruise is gay! Scientology is evil!1111" debate, I'll ban you now.

I have spoken.

*Kkkkktttt* Lima Charlie O Pharoh...Lima Charlie. Over. *kkkkktttttt*

That's radio talk for "loud and clear". And the Pharoh reference is from Yul Brenner's portrayal of Pharoh in Ten Commandments. Uggh....why am I even explaining my jokes.

THIS MOVIE WAS THE ****! The bridge scene was my favorite. I feel it was very well done. And people are lying if they say it doesn't intrest them at least see it for the action and the guy who won best actor.
