Ocean's 13

To be maked as spoilers later......

No. For serious. I mean . My love for this movie is rivaled only by a 13-year old girl being seranaded by Sanjaya. At least that's how I feel when I watch these "Ocean's" films.

So now comes the statement that will either turn you onto the film.....or off:

This film is the Ocean's equivelant to "Pirates of the Carribean 3".

For PotC fans...you'll take it as awesome. For those who thought PotC was entertaining yet bogged down by too many plot twist and too much stuff going on...you'll take that previous statement as "dvd rental". For those who hate the Ocean films like I hate Pirates....than you'll want to avoid this.

Personally...I love all the Ocean films. Including the Sinatra original. So it was natural that I would swoon all over this film. I think it also has to do with my love of Vegas. I used to go every year and I just love the vibe. The shows. The food. The casinos. It's every young single man's dream. Who cares whether you win or lose? IT'S VEGAS BABY!

Anyways...all of the gang members are back. Except this time there's no Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones. Which is fine since there's no way I could see them being useful to the plot. Plus, while Ellen Barkin is still hot for age....it's obvious that she hasn't aged as well as some other Hollywood actresses over 50. So having the 2 previous women in the film would've basically made Barkin look like a hag. One word.......cougar. And yes....that's all Doom.

And THE NIGHTFOX IS BACK!

So yeah...I'm probably gonna see this film again while it's in theaters. And I'll be getting the DVD. Not better than 1...better than 2....just as grand in scale as all the other ones.

I love these films.......

I completely agree with Doom on this one. I love Oceans, and I liked this one a lot. It fully met my expectations, and the ending was great.

What about those of us who really liked Ocean's 11 but would place Ocean's 12 somewhere in the ten worst films they've ever seen?

While I didn't hate 12 that much, I too loathed the film. Trust me; 13 is redeeming for the series. Go see it. If you don't like it, I'll reimburse you for however much the tickets cost.

Not really though.

First off...I'd say you were out your gorram mind!

For those who might not be aware of our colorful history---me and Planet bump heads every so often on a couple of films and love of cheeseburgers. But it's all in the name of differing opinions and that's it. For the most part we agree on opinions of films----like on why Pan's Labyrinth sucked so bad. All you suckers and your silly Pan praises. :p

But for the life of me---I can't see why people disliked Twelve. I really cannot see how they didn't like it. It baffles my mind more than the fact that Joanie Loves Chachi? :?

But....like Wade said---for those who hated Twelve...this one redeems it. In a way....I guess...if there was something that needed redeeming.....which there isn't. :? But whatever.

I think this one would bring fans back to the "franchise" (if you can call it that since this is the last one). If for nothing else it takes out that "european caper" feel the second one had---and replaces it with that ol' Vegas magic again.

I mean let's be honest---not many people were all about Vegas before the first film.

There was something very Dean Martin/Rock Hudson about this one. It mirrored the flashy style the first one had---except it had a slight retro camp to it. Not so noticable that it takes you outta the experience....but just enough to invoke that nostalgic Rat Pack feeling.

So yeah---go see it.

FOR ONCE I AGREE WITH DOOM ZOMG!!!

no but really, i seriously loved this (and also, ive agreed with doom before)

it was great fun all the way through, and the ending was GREAT.

True. Even if the entire movie had sucked (and it didn't) it would be worth seeing, just for those last few scenes.

Seriously....I knew my money was well spent when I saw Casey Affleck in a moustache trying start a revolution.

And people...do you see how awesome suits are? Do you see how it sets you apart? Bet you're not laughing at me wearing suits to strip clubs and bars now huh? Yeah.....Doom, The Ocean Crew and Barney Stinson were right all along. SUIT UP!

And The Brody works!

Such a great movie!

Oh totally. Once I'm old enough to go to Strip Clubs (and I shall visit them often) I will always be wearing a badass suit. Thank you, Doom, for setting such a good example for me!

I saw this film last night and thought it was great. The first half hour or so was kind of confusing and not very fun as the pacing was all over the place and there was too much exposition. After that though, it got really great.

My friends and I unanimously decided that our favourite moment in the film was the shot of Andy Garcia laughing and just saying..."Yes!"

That was classic. Couldn't have been in the script.

A girl in my Business Law class was complaining about it. She said it was too "predictable". When I told her she was wrong, she insisted that she was right because she went with two guys and they both agreed with her and said it sucked. What an idiot. I don't care if you went with 100 guys, you whore! It was a good film.

I think that may be the first time I was holding up the positive end of an argument.

I pretty much agree with Doom. I love all the Ocean's movies, even Twelve. And Thirteen is pretty much a revisit of Eleven, with Al Pacino and an awesome heist.

Kind of sad there won't be another one. These movies are just fun. I can watch them over and over and never get bored.

In fact. . .I might watch Ocean's Eleven tonight.

OF COURSE ITS PREDICTABLE! What, did she think they were going to fail or something? You don't watch the Ocean's movies for the plot (As fun as it might be), you watch it for the dialogue and character interaction!

I saw this a couple of Sundays ago, wondering if I was going to watch it in the US as the people I was staying with like the Ocean's series. I thought, "Nah, it'll've been out for ages in the US" so I assumed they saw it and went to see it. Then when I got to the US a few days later, they explained we'd be watching Ocean's 13.

I didn't complain.

Because it's a pretty damn cool film. It's not as good as 11, but it is better than 12. When 12 finished I kinda hoped they wouldn't do another, but when 13 finished, I kinda hope they do a 14.

If only for more of the Moron twins. The Zapata sequence was brilliant, as was the "PACK YOUR THINGS!" scene.

Eventually though, the series will become redundant when, in Ocean's 903, each person gets a cut of the score which amounts to $1.52...

I watched 11 last night with a bunch of people and it was as great as ever. The montage explaining how they pulled off the heist (the S.W.A.T. team, et al) is still as awesome as it was when I saw it first when I was 12. The music is fantastic here as well, with that theme based on 'A Little Less Conversation'. Pity they didn't bring that back for the sequels.

I just saw this tonight. It was, predictably, great. In fact, I've placed it just below 300 on my 2007 movie list with a 4.5 our of 5.

I think one intangible that really helped me enjoy it is the fact that I watched National Treasure this morning after work. I liked the movie, I'm a big American history buff, particularly Revolution era so it really "spoke'' to me, plus I'm a Nicolas Cage fan. But. . . everytime the bad guy had something on the main character the main character just gave in and did whatever he was told. He was a huge wuss and it got on my nerves.

In Ocean's 13 the good guys had the upper hand the whole time and you knew it. Any obstacle that came their way they had a counter for. They were never in any trouble and they never wussed out. It was way more fun to watch them just march in and destroy their enemy.
