Well, Sony's press conference has come and gone, and boy was it something.

It's official boys and girls. PS3 will hit North America on November 17. There will be two different packages for it. One will come with a 20GB Hardrive and cost $499, and the other will come with a 60GB hardrive and cost $599.

Oh, and the coolest games shown at E3 were easily the new Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer and, get this....FINAL FANTASY XIII!!!!

FF XIII looked amazing. And get this, the main character is a female, and she was baddass in that trailer! This game alone makes PS3 well worth the $500 price tag!

Agreed.

As badly as I want MGS4 and FFXIII, it isn't worth 500 bucks.

Figuring both games won't be due out until at least Q4 2007, I can hold off.

I would totally switch allegiances if MGS4 and FFXIII were for both PS3 and 360.

Even the editors at Gamespot were like "Uh. . .its about 100 bucks too expensive for both versions."

I know price is a tad too much guys but it actually good money.

first of all NO company makes money off consoles its the games that make cash

second it is a blue ray dvd player as well. Blue ray dvd players are estimated to be $1000-$1500 when they come out. Blue ray IS going to take over from dvd players so you will not only have a kick *** console but a blue ray dvd player for less than a blue ray dvd player is estimated at.

third even if they say $600 it will almost certenly get lowered by $100-$200 if the Wii comes out at its estimated $150-250 price range. It happened last time rember with xbox? ps2 and game cube lowered prices so xbox did the same it was still the most expensive so i say after wii comes out ps3 will cost $300-400

...I spend like 500 dolars for my ps2, i think i can spend something like that to ps3. But it will come with higher price here.

But oh my god, I saw the FFXIII and I pretty much drooled through the whole thing. Thankfully, that drool didn't reach my keyboard, lol.
