Earth X; one of the best comics I've read, period.

Annihilation; hardly perfect, but a big barrell of fun with some classic characters.

Civil War; far too Millarish for its own good, but... well.... McNiven.

House of M; far too Bendisish for its own good, but... well.... Coipiel.

Secret Wars; as cheesy as a fondue party, but it nevertheless did a lot to influence current crossovers, for better or worse.

Secret War (Bendis); yeah....what exactly did this accomplish?

Ech.... I think I'm in the minority in that I don't really like Ross' artwork. And the story really didn't appeal to me either.

I hear Annihilation is great. I haven't picked it up because I'm not all that into cosmic stories, but I may just because of all the praise it's getting. I've read everything else on the list, and just didn't find any of it all that good.

it'll make you get into cosmic stories

I picked up Annihilation when it came up basically because of Dell'Otto's awesome cover for the prologue (I'm working on getting a poster made out of it) with no real idea of what was going on or any prior investment in any of the characters involved and I loved every panel of it.
