Re: All Star Shazam!

Well, not actually, but I'm pimping this to all the people who are interested in All Star titles, but otherwise probably won't pick this up (E, VVD, etc.)

Jeff Smith's Shazam!: The Monster Society of Evil

It looks gorgeous. Who else has been looking forward to it?
I have, but I'm holding off for the inevitable hardcover of it that I'd want ot buy even if I had the single issues.

And I think they should have made it an All Star title too. And Justice should be All Star JLA. Whats the point of starting the line if your still publishing books that would fit perfectly into it and not use it?

I agree. These two books are perfect for the All Star line, and at least they'll be coming out on time...

I *almost* got it but I'm really trying to stick to tradewaiting, and this is a good exercise in self-control for me. I did flip through it though, and it looked beautiful.

Been waiting FOREVER!! Taking my copy to get signed by Jeff, I'm one of his and David Mack's biggest fangirls.

I wish Smith had gotten Trials, instead of Winnick.

I was in another comic store today and almost picked it up again, but $5.99?! Little much.

52 pages, no ads, wraparound cover. It is a bit expensive, but it's worth it.

Then just wait for the HC trade, and if that's too pricey, wait for the softcover trade, and if that's too pricey...don't buy it *shrug*

Sorry, E, I didn't mean to be *****y.

It's OK. I said earlier that I plan on doing exactly that. I'm having a hard time resisting not getting it right now. But I fully plan on getting the collection.

I hate to admit it, I'm such a Jeff Smith fangirl (and after the dickjob DC did to us with Infinite Crisis), I'm getting the HC when it comes out too.

I'm going to buy every issue AND get the hardcover, probably. Jeff Smith's stuff just looks so nice that it's one of those books I can put out on my coffee table and everyone, whether they like comics or not, will pick it up and flip through.
