Skyfall discussion

Re: James Bond 23 Discussion Thread

Well... that whole "Bardem is in Bond awesome" lasted about sixteen seconds.

You killed the excitement with your black heart.

that doesn't even make sense, anatomically speaking.

You're telling me you've never seen a camel-toe? Because, I assure you, camel-toes pretty much prove that anatomically speaking, an abundance of vagina is possible.

Its what I do.

Oh, ok, that actually makes 1000 times more sense. Sorry, sometimes I forego common sense and critical thinking in favor of the dick jokes (or in this case, a vagina joke).

Like I said, its what I do.

Re: James Bond 23 Discussion Thread

A James Bond film directed by Sam Mendes featuring Javier Bardem as the villain would be amazing.

I believe it's time to change the title of this thread.

In SKYFALL, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Yup. Which is weird to me, I always saw the old Moneypenny as a bit frumpy, which Naomie Harris is not.

it's weird to me too because every time I see a picture of her, my mind turns it into
who-is-tia-dalma.jpg

I'm going to go hide under my bed for a while.

This comes out next week! I'm pretty pumped! The first two were pretty good but not great. Everything I've seen about Skyfall makes me think this one will be the best of the reboot/prequel franchise.

Also, we can probably rename the thread now.

I'm looking forward to it too. Especially since it's getting great reviews, even from the people who hated Daniel Craig as Bond in the first two. I like that it apparently still keeps the slightly harder edge of the previous two reboots, while also leaning on the more classic, debonaire and slick Bond of the previous 22 films. Really can't wait to check it out.

I loved Casino Royale. I thought Quantum of Solace was a barely watchable mess. I have high hopes for Skyfall. Very high hopes.

I was supposed to go to a midnight premiere last night, but we got there and it wasn't showing. My friend checked the tickets he had bought (he bought them for all of us and we were going to pay him back) and realized they were for Wednesday night/Thursday, not Thursday night/Friday.

however, it's weird that there was a midnight premiere on Wednesday/Thursday when the movie didn't come out until Friday. I'm not sure what's going on there.

Does anyone else wish that - as much as I loved him - Javier Bardem's part was played by Pierce Brosnan?

It'd make so much sense. Brosnan came on board with Dench. Dench left him in a prison in DIE ANOTHER DAY, Brosnan's last Bond film. The idea that "James Bond" is a codename for all 007s has been a popular fan theory, and it would be a great way to do it here with Brosnan seeking revenge on Dench. I look at SKYFALL and imagine Brosnan in the role and it just works so well.

Woah... That would have been cool!
