Slasherverse - Timeline

Wait for It (Leslie Vernon sequel) has only been shown at select film festivals. It's somewhat aggravating because I'd love to see it, but until it becomes widely available... can't really include it.
You can rent Wait for It here, if you're still interested in adding it

There are miscolourations for the Saw movies at these places on the detailed timeline, and Re-Aminator: Integral Version is missing from the viewing/reading order (not massive issues but I feel they still need correcting). Dagon also still needs to be added (and possibly Creepshow?)

I toyed with that idea at one point, but it's not really a proper prequel. It contradicts the first film's depiction of the murders too, technically.

Amityville is a chaotic series regardless. Anyone could make an Amityville movie acknowledging some of the previous films legally. That's why I stuck to the official original series.

Army of Darkness contradicts Evil Dead 2's ending, as does Friday the 13th: Part III. I feel as though small snippets of murders from the first film being retconned out in favour of a full movie about them would be fine, and there's no other reason to just accept that it's not canon - like Leatherface (unless that was declared canon, though before this it was still added to the timeline, so the point still stands).
A few comics (such as AvFvJ: TNW) have just been BS-ed in, and things such as Freddy's Nightmares aren't even canon to their respective movies, so I don't see why any non-contradictory Amityville movies shouldn't be added in (though it would make it quite messy)

Despite this, I feel only Amityville media made by the same company(s) should be put into consideration, otherwise you'd have a plethora of random movies to sift through

Grandma Sawyer's corpse appears in The Howling, which was done by the same art director as TCM. A coven of werewolves is also mentioned in Child's Play: The Series #2. There's also a newspaper referencing Piranha, another John Dante film, and in Piranha 3D, Matt Hooper from Jaws appears. (This is a lot, and I get the Howling references are a bit scarce, but I just love the idea of Jaws being a part of this for some reason)

Also, just asking for confirmation about some of the previous things I've mentioned, since after IT 1990 I haven't had any definitive answers, other than Dagon, which (as far as I'm aware) hasn't been added yet, and the errors haven't been fixed. Not sure if it's edited on a schedule or if it's whenever you get the chance, so confirmation about this would be appreciated (I get somewhat stressed when posts from days ago aren't acknowledged but more recent ones do, or answers that aren't definitive, so that I know for future queries)

@Pro Bot not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but in Jason Goes to Hell there's fluffy's crate from Creepshow, which would also then connect any Stephen King media that relates

If Creepshow does get added, would the Lost Boys easter egg be a viable connection? I know the Creephow segment with the missing person poster on the milk carton is set in 1978, but I don't know enough about The Lost Boys to know whether Laddie (the person on the milk carton) would be missing or not at this time

@Pro Bot just wondering when these will be followed up on?

The difference is Army of Darkness is a sequel to Evil Dead 2. This Amityville movie isn't intended to be in the same continuity.

Amityville has also done time travel before, so it could just be a case of alternate timelines
I feel like that film's time travel was supposed to be self-contained.

Quotes regardless the 2022 Texas Chainsaw Massacre film imply that every previous film can count as canon to it.

That comic is mainly just unintentional continuity errors. There's not really any substantial reason why Freddy's Nightmares can't be canon. If anything, Robert Englund's Freddy Krueger portrayal makes it more canon than other spin-off media.

Yeah, I know about these references to The Howling, but I don't know the Piranha reference. I dismissed The Howling because they're not very valid connections.

I barely update this timeline much anymore. It's not necessarily abandoned, I just don't have the motivation for it. I should add in Dagon though, you're right.

I don't even know about a connection with The Lost Boys, but that's very interesting. Creepshow is very confusing for continuity though, I personally prefer that be in its own plane. The TV show, I think, had a few things that might be alternate timelines and such, but also references other episodes and shorts. A big mess.

Saw is a nightmare because this site is a bit buggy and forces me to write out the whole thing again, because if I just change the colour it glitches itself back into what it was. Definitely should fix that though.

Freddy's Nightmares was just an example, but the fact that other media has been added that's arguably part of the same continuities makes me personally believe the other Amityville movies that could be added, should be added. I'll admit all the examples I gave had logical counter-arguments, but I feel the TCM one shouldn't stand unless the remakes get added (not saying they should, I just feel if you're gonna do Leatherface, you should do the rest).

That's fair enough, though as well as Dagon, Re-Animator: Integral Version isn't included on the viewing/reading order, which should be an easy enough fix. Not adding Creepshow is also fair enough.

Just wondering though: what would count as viable connections? Obviously direct/official references would count, but other things such as Psycho are vaguer, and I don't know if they're officially licensed or not. Again, Psycho could have more solid evidence, it's just the one I'm focusing most on. Though, how solid do references have to be, to count as a Slasherverse entry? (Sorry if this has been asked before)

Hack/Slash's Cates Motel is the only reason why Psycho is added. The killer in that story could arguably be Norman Bates (though I'd prefer him not be - said killer dies).

Explicit references to things or people as existing. Shared props may be used if there's reasonable evidence that it's not just an easter egg. Hellraiser counts specifically because of the nature of Leslie Vernon. The configuration in that movie has to be a connection to the Hellraiser franchise because every other reference is legitimate.
