Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (franchise) - Timelines

In the TMNT (2012) New Animated Adventures Comic #9, there's a year seen ("2014") - and it's set shortly after season one.

So season 1 is set in 2013.
I did include a few of those issues in my timeline, but only stories that were written by former writers of the show. Because they added something consequential to the story.

But on the whole, I never considered this series canon to the show. A nice supplement, but the showrunners certainly weren't keeping up with the comic. They probably just made it New Year's Day 2014 because it was published in 2014.

Ciro says in his art book that season 5 kicks off 1-2 years after the end of season 4. I split the difference and called it 1.5 years, but either way, season 4 has to end in 2015, which forces everything else back as well. So season 1 has to be 2012.

I appreciate it. I'm dealing with some emotional problems at the moment irl.

There's two tie-in games for consoles, not sure if those are canon or not.

But also, I'm counting the tie-in comics...

25 of the "New Animated Adventures" comics
72 of the Panini Magazine-exclusive comics
18 of the "Amazing Adventures" comics

Plus the 6-issue Batman (DCAU) crossover one that is either non-canon or an example of Multiversal-breaching.

What's canon and what's not?

They were in Warzone?

The two console games are not cannon. The first one is meant to take place between seasons 1 and 2, but you fight Shredder and the Kraang during a period where both were laying low. The second on is just a mindless arcade beat em up. You fight Shredder and Super Shredder back to back.

I can't really comment on the Panini stuff, but New Animated Adventures was innocuous enough that it never breaks canon. But it eventually reaches a point where it's pretty hard to actually place any stories on a timeline.

Amazing Adventures took more liberties and didn't really worry about contradictions with the show, so I never considered it canon. Still some fun stories in there.

I forget where I had placed them, but I like to consider the Batman crossover canon. Pretty sure there was nothing contradictory.
