Isn't the Last Knight supposed to be apocalyptic? Because I remember seeing the trailers for it years ago and that's what I inferred from it

I don't know what places the G.I. Joe films so close together timeline-wize, but Selfishmisery's overview seems to have missed the dialogue suggesting the sequel was set at least after September 1st while the first film occurs between August 9th and August 19th.

The Operation HISS comic suggests that the sequel is probably at least a little past mid-September though. Maybe this gets retconned by the sequel though, we'll see.
