The funny thing though, if Hearts of Steel is canon to both, that means that the Infestation old ones sent their creatures to both the Hasbroverse and the X-Files universe at the exact same time and place, which led to the exact same events happening, despite them being different universes and having different characters participating (even though they look the same and both think they're, say, the real Optimus Prime - even though only one of them are).

It's probably in the erased Season 10-11 comic continuation timeline, yeah. It's set in 2014 so it'd make sense if the timeline where Mulder and Scully are active in the FBI at that time was counted. In the Season 10-11 TV continuation timeline, they come back in 2016, two years later.

I don't know if that's really a crossover and not just an episode done in the style of COPS. Also, no. For the same reason that Munch doesn't connect everything, no. I can't imagine they would be included.

That comic does crossover with something else, mind you. It's probably best to focus on just The X-Files portion. Possibly the same counts for The X-Files: Conspiracy, though it's much easier to count the Hearts of Steel Transformers continuity. I guess The Crow can count without Slasherverse links, since the Hack/Slash/Crow crossover links with The Crow film series... word of God-wise, anyway. (It doesn't make sense)

In any case, all of The X-Files continuation comics get booted out with a minor reference to the revival seasons at the end of Season 11 (comic), so it's not like Conspiracy really matters much.

They forget everything that just happened after Gibson Praise manipulates the fabric of time and we literally see scenes from the television revival behind Scully, suggesting that reality has been changed.

I see this as a clear indication that everything that happened after 2007 have been changed which might mean that the Lone Gunmen crew's fate matches these comics despite what TV S10-11 claim.

I actually don't like the way they did the layout here. Putting pre-revival comics in with the TV timeline just comes off as messy to me. Like, randomly having an issue of the Season 10 comics after television Season 10 even though you have a timeline for the alternate continuation below.

It'd be better to put them all together as a separate timeline... also, they misunderstood the ending of Conspiracy. Everyone thinks that it erased itself but if you read it through properly, the ending is set in a virus-infected timeline that gets overwritten by them sending information back in time leading to the start of the comic where they avoid the virus. It's clearly in-continuity with the comic continuations to me, which I think are clearly implied to be in-continuity with the revival through a reality reset.

An episode of The X-Files (which came out around 2000-2001) references the Ghostbusters. I suppose, in the continuity of Ghostbusters: Legion, it might be possible that the time between the Ghostbusters forming and the ending of the film were years apart. I'd have to read the comic.

That actually helps me buy into the idea that Twin Peaks and Fringe could count... I mean, it's less of the X-Files and more of an FBI shared universe at that point, but still. It's that damn in-universe show that ruins it and the fact that it becomes a game of what crossovers count and what don't.

The in-universe version of the band Nine Inch Nails in Watchmen, "The Nine Inch Nails", is the same band who appear in Twin Peaks: The Return. Writer for the HBO Watchmen series, Jeff Jensen, stated in the "A Podcast About Twin Peaks" episode ""Watchmen" walks into "Twin Peaks"" that Watchmen and Twin Peaks occupy the same universe.
