Ultimate Spiderman #102 discussion (Spoilers)

Well, why clone peter parker? I think that there are more better choices, such as Captain America, the recipient of the Super-Solider formula. And besides, most people know cpr, yet it seems he did nothing. The only reason I think they'd have Richard Parker as his name is that they may want Richard Parker as one of their own, but since he's dead, make a clone of his son. Also, if Spider-Man's dad is working for the government, then there is more control over Spider-Man.

Well I think they cloned Pete cause A.) they had his blood sample and B.) he's genetics made the cloning proccess work (I forget where they said that). But that is a good idea that they made him into Richards in order to keep the parker clones in line

Ben Reilly said that Peter's DNA was more "rugged", which presumably means that it could be more easily changed and copied. Maybe, when they made Tarantula, they were just testing to see how far they could go without creating something that couldn't live.

Also, remember when Reilly said that Jessica wasn't fully formed yet (or something along those lines)? They never showed us what she looked like. Maybe all clones started out all melty-face, and then they finished growing, but Kaine woke up too soon.

Or Kaine went nuts when they told him he was a clone, and the creepy background people got him with their guns.

...Ouch.

Since the cloning facility is in New York (why????), and like fifty CIA employees now know what Peter looks like and that clones of him have been created... sooner or later, Peter's just going to be walking down the street, and someone's gonna come up to him all, "Come back to the lab!" or "Please don't kill me!" or "Didn't you used to have a tail?"

Ouch to you or him? ( it wasn't an insult! )
I always assumed his burns or whatever weren't accidental, I mean, he has one side of his face perfectly formed, and he seems functional. If he was screwed up enough to have those burns when he was made, I would think he'd have other serious problems that would limit his um.."aliveness".
And with Scorpion's shooters shooting acid, I though the lookalikes in the background in 102 may have something similar. He is unstable enough I could imagine him leaping out of bed, going, "I have to be real! I want MJ!" and getting dealt with.

I meant ouch for Kaine.

But if they shot him, why would he have burns on his hands?

perhaps he has a genetic disorder? only half of his body is showing signs, like deterioration.
look carefully in the last issue. He has burns on both hands. Poor guy.
Does anyone find it kinda cute that the first thing this clone can do is go look for MJ? Awwww...
however, this does not detract from the fact he is insane and in need of a mental asylum. :D

So I'm guessing that Richard Parker isn't Peter's dad, but an older clone of himslef.

I do think the CIA bits are implanted memories. I do think he's a clone.

But I think he's a clone of Richard Parker.

The Carnage Prototype was a mesh of Peter Parker's DNA and Richard Parker's DNA. The reason I feel that it remained so unstable is because Human DNA and Oz/Spider/Human DNA doesn't mix so well. This meant that Carnage was trying to imprint the DNA of others into himself to stabilize himself.

Once they figured out how to isolate Richard Parker's DNA in the monster, they were able to create a human clone of him.My guess is that Miles Warren works with Cassandra Webb and has been provoking Aunt May to think about her brother-in-law and all of the aspects of his life she knew about, so Webb could read those thoughts with her telepathy, so that the fake memory they developed for Richard would be more realistic.

With the R. Parker DNA pulled out, it would be easier to analyze the genetic properties of OZ and unlock the formula for cloning Peter Parker. The first attempt would probably incorrectly balance the human and Spider genetics, and create Tarantula. the second might be closer, but require them to put him in an exoskeletal suit, if he wasn't created with a complete skeletal structure, creating Scorpion (using a tail that acts in the same way as Doc Ock's tentacles do, i might add). Then they would create their first successful mostly-human form, whose skin starts to deteriorate, and then his brain as well, leaving him more than a little insane and unbalanced. Perhaps he's living over all of the traumatic experiences in his life, making him desperately want to save MJ. Spider-Woman, would be the last and most successful clone.

Using the remnants of DNA in the original Carnage subject, the Reily team, using the mind of the original Richard Parker, as well as Doc Ock, go at focusing the DNA eating goo into holding onto the life Force of Gwen Stacy. Perhaps they think that if they can stabilize the creature as Gwen, then they could take Gwen's DNA and clone her. She escapes at this point, convinced that she is gwen, but still being Carnage.

Thats my guess

Finally my ban is over , before doing any comments , I think I have an apology to make.

I am deeply sorry for whatever comment I have done that could hurt someone, or simply make them feel disturbed. It wasn't my intention. And again I am deeply sorry.

Aand, back to the topic...

I liked this issue.Despite of my hatred to Bendis and my dissapointment of Bagley's performance in the last issues.I liked USM #102

Eventhough I had to see the Goblin-Mj again. It's still a nice issue.I like it because Peter is finally starting to become Peter again. He is finally starting to react instead of watching.

I like the origin of Ultimate Jessica Drew , eventhough we all did see it coming, it is at least 28909876561237 times better than 616 Jessica Drew.

I like the apperreance of Madame Web.Eventhough her existence as an employee of CIA keeps us reading great stories like Secret Wars, it's still nice.

I simply loved the way the clones reacted to the explosion , I love the way they all went like "Oops, Danger! Must save MJ!!" reflex. It's the best way to show how much Peter actually loves MJ.

And I like Doc Ock getting in the middle of the mess.Eventhough I didn't understand why he is with Fury and Fantastic Four instead of the dudes at CIA it's a nice twist. And I don't think it will remain as a big mystery for long.

This is going to get lots of derogritory slurls towards "new people" thrown at me, but I've got to say it: The idea of Richard Parker being a clone is the worst idea since Cameron Diaz's parents decided not to have an abortion.

You're all bright and optimistic, and I respect that (not really, though). Look, I know how this idea is playing out in your head...and it's great that you have an imagination and all, but even if you are right --Which I don't think you are--it'll end up being some dumb piece of annoying, Bendis-ish cliched dialouge.

You think it'll be a sweet story with mystery and...I don't know, other good things. But what it'll really be like is this:

Peter DAD I'M SO HAPPY THAT WE WENT ON THAT SUPER-AWESOME ADVENTURE TOGETHER. HOWEVER, I AM STILL ANGRY! ANGRY AT EVERYTHING, THEREFORE I SHALL YELL AND BE ANGSTY! GRR, ANGER!

Richard Yes son, we have truely bonded, I am so happy and my emotions defiently arn't sullied by Bagley's crappy art and Bendis' 3rd grade writing level.

OMG LOL!! Dock Ock jumps out of nowhere to unveil the startling truth!

Otto Aha! I am insane. You can tell that I'm insane because Nick Fury said so. And I have a startling revelation that must be made to shock/wow the readers!

Peter DOCK OCK! SEEING YOU MAKES ME ANGRY! I'M GOING TO GO CRY BECAUSE I COULDN'T SAVE GWEN AND MARY WAS THROWN OFF A BRIDGE!

Otto Silence! I am insane. Look at how crazy I am. I talk to inanimate objects! Crazy Crazy Crazy! But guess what you didn't know about your father???

Peter I HOPE THAT IT ISN'T BAD BECAUSE THAT WOULD MAKE ME GO AND SULK, ONLY TO BE COMFORTED BY MARY JANE WHILE WE'RE DIESECTING FROGS!

Richard Otto! No don't tell him--

Otto Aha!!! Your father is actually an aged clone of you with different memories! I am actually just like you, except crazy. Look at me! I'm a tragic villain!

Peter FATHER IS A CLONE! OH, GOD WHY??? I AM ANGRY AND MY BROWS ARE FURROWED! FURROWED BECAUSE I AM ANGRY!!!

Mary Jane Hey Peter! I'm a crazy demon-slut! Let's get back together so I can cause you more emotional pain due to my crazy, out of control, erratic behavior! Did I mention that I'm big foot now?

Just then, Norman Osborn breaks out of prison, and throws Mary off of the queensboro Bridge, Killing her instantly! This causes more critically acclaimed angst and pain, which wins Brian Michael Bendis 200 Pulitzer awards.

Actually, the worst idea was letting Bendis make MJ into Shewolf/goblin/squirrel beast.

Wait, scratch that, the worst idea is thinking that Bendis is so great and letting him have a shot at almost all of the Ultimate titles.

**** Bendis. You go and kill the smart, blue, animal guy just cus he has more hair than you

Oh , man among all the pain they have caused , I totally forgot they killed Beast!!! Now I hate Bendis twice :)

I'm certain that exactly what Bendis thinks whenever he writes anything
I don't agree. I think Bendis has written some good stuff, but he's not at his best right now. I have no doubt there is a reason for MJ's transformation, if not, he's built up a character for 100 issues wastefully. He seems to like MJ, I don't think he'd do that to her without reason.

I think he ran out of cool ideas right before the USM Annual 1.

With a little thinking Bendis' USM idea is what caused Marvel to start Ultimate Universe.

I agree with you , he did cool stuff with the Ultimate Universe , oh wait he created the Ultimate Universe , and did so many cool stuff that , now we have great expectations from him and his work can't meet our expectations.

And that also means , it is time for some fresh blood on the title before more stupidities like MJ-goblin gets into our lives.
